Today, we are revisiting @Jewelinniger's podcast about the Twitter ban in Nigeria. Luckily, the ban was lifted in January 2022. But for seven months, Nigerians who depended on Twitter to market their business were not able to use the platform. soundcloud.com/podiumme/twitt…

@Jewelinniger I'll talk to the moderators. We have rules against insulting ppls' tribes. Most of the culprits are trolls working for politicians, so they are highly motivated.

#Nairaland was the first ever social platform I joined. As a teenager, the platform offered me really insightful conversations and I actually learnt alot there. But recently, it is becoming a safe space for tribalism and bigotry. @seunosewa pls save our beautiful platform.

@Jewelinniger produced an incredible episode about the story of Light Juma, a Kenyan journalist who won the Chevening Award and moved to the UK to study in the middle of this global pandemic, a story that resonates with a few of our own producers and fellow students!
