My take for @JewishChron on the Govt's excellent new social cohesion plan. It treats antisemitism as a matter of national importance, calls out both Islamism and the far-right as the predominant threat to cohesion and says conspiracy theories as gateways to radicalised thinking.

I would like to extend my thanks to the police, the security services, and everyone involved in keeping Britain safe. People will be worried after today's arrests, especially those in our Jewish community. Our world-leading security services will not hesitate to protect you. There are some who will use moments like this to divide people. It is vital that we now come together as a nation, united in our common purpose.

CST welcomes the additional funding announced today by the Government to pay for increased commercial security guarding and physical security equipment across the Jewish community. This is a vital boost at a crucial time for the Jewish community, and is sadly much needed following the appalling Islamist terrorist attack in Manchester and at a time of heightened antisemitism. We will continue to work closely with government and community partners to ensure that this additional funding is used as effectively as possible to protect our community, while seeking longer-term ways to tackle the sources of this hatred and extremism.

I am saddened to hear that Lord David Triesman has passed away. David will be remembered for his brilliant contribution to our Party and country, including as Labour General Secretary and a government minister. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

The two populist parties offer nothing for Gorton & Denton. Reform's candidate says he's "quite similar" to far-right Tommy Robinson. The Green candidate demeans Holocaust Memorial Day. Neither are fit to represent the seat. Only @UKLabour's Angeliki Stogia is.

Guess Polanski's radical change in political beliefs and his desire to win the Green Party leadership were purely coincidental...
