Everyone has a legal right to protest. Being a part of a lawful protest does not give anyone the right to use words, images or symbols to intimidate, provoke violence, or stir up hatred against any community.

Thousands of officers will be deployed across London to keep groups apart, enforce conditions and respond quickly to incidents. Peaceful protest is allowed but violence, hate crime or serious disruption will not be tolerated. Action will be taken where offences are committed.

Watch as police officers confront a man suspected of carrying out a terrorist attack in north London where two men were stabbed. The suspect refused to show his hands, was violent and continued to pose a clear threat.
