@cyclingweekly Why does it happen. Because the infrastructure is so poor and motorists so inconsiderate that cycle are forced to use pavement to be safer.
In much the same way as I find it difficult to watch ‘Hospital’, however good it is, can’t bring myself to watch #AandElive - too close to home and I live it live, every day
@AlanJFerguson@GeorgeTorr_ Kids try all sorts, it is part of growing up. It's a shame these things exist, but you can not necessarily blame the person that takes it. Well done Laura.
Want to say a big thank you to Laura, an off-duty A+E nurse from Sheffield. She brought a man who’d taken Spice back from the brink of death using CPR. She was on the school run with her two small kids in a pram and stopped to help. This is why the NHS is amazing. What a hero.
@masons301265 It is one of those assumptions so engrained, it is not challenged, but we should question the value of it, like we do for any intervention, especially one so expensive.
@Retlouping@CochraneUK@Students4BE Look again. It's hot, down the beach need to cool off have an ice cream or go for a swim, who said exercise was good for you and fat and sugar bad. So much of medicine has unforeseen consequences.
@CochraneUK@Students4BE Poor example cheese causes bad dreams, causes restless nights entanglement and death. You are only ever seven steps away from anything in this world.
🙃
@DrSimonMc I worry about those that don't rely on silicone and remember most of a guideline, except the bit that... All for easy access to good silicone.
For those of you who worry about the next generation’s use of silicon based memory for ‘just in time’ knowledge, you’re not alone... BUT we seem to have done okay in the past.
Optimising sleep for night shifts. The recognition of the importance of our sleep and rest on our ability to look after ourselves and patients is safety critical and must be happening across the NHS #RestEM Great work @bmj_latestbmj.com/content/360/bm…
@EMlocum I trace this back to DVT management, we developed pathways and before we knew it every sore leg was plugged into it. Now every unwell person gets plugged into a Sepsis pathway. There is nothing wrong with the processes, but the diagnosis needs to be sort first, not bypassed.
@DrSimonMc Did the welcome talk for induction today. First point: there is always a consultant available 24/7. If you can't get them ring me. No one should be without back up.
