@QuartzN1nja Wrong. They are equally as likely because both are impossible. Blue pushers just aren't intelligent enough to comprehend that the only POSSIBLE solutions are not either of the optimal ones. As a result, you advocate for making the death toll the maximum in could be.

Red and blue button pushers: who's smarter? In a mostly-subscriber sample who took a brief verbal IQ test, the answer is... Blue pushers! If the whole population has an IQ of 100 with an SD of 15, their mean IQ would be 101.9, versus 97.0 for reds.

@milosz_szewsky What makes me laugh is their goal is to ultimately get everyone to join the red side

@VitoComedy It's so dumb, obviously a thought exercise is about ideas clashing and not finding loopholes in the questions wording Same logic: a coma patient can't hit any button so we won't get the final result, therefore blues get trapped and die of old age. I can add a dumb loophole too

@theo The badge is irrelevant, everyone who pushes blue is always going to die in a real world scenario. The "badge" is still being alive.

If >50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives Red button pressers always survive, but they’ll get a “red button presser” badge on their Twitter profile. What do you press?

@AcSK1LLies In that case, i'll vote red and bounce because i got shit to do, you'll vote blue and will die of old age waiting for a result that will never happen because some people won't even manage to press the button seeing as "EVERYONE" votes and some people will die before they choose

“most people assumed” That’s their fault for not grasping the concept of “everyone”. Or not wanting to for obvious reasons. It doesn’t mean that you get to only include 100% rational thinkers into the equation. It means everyone. Literally. That’s the crux of the issue.

interesting how completely the conversation has shifted to kids. initially, most people assumed we were talking about adults, not babies smashing buttons, which kind of breaks the thought experiment. that this is all we’re now discussing implies blues understand they were wrong.

@InverseGps Yes i have considered that. It is NOT easier to achieve because both events have an approximate probability of 0 and are for all intents and purposes, impossible. Have you considered the only possible solutions might not be the theoretical optimal solution? Clearly not
