The reason it's harder for mid-majors to compete is NOT NIL. It's the UNRESTRICTED transfer portal.
NIL and the one-time transfer rule have existed for several years. The unrestricted portal is new in the past 2 seasons. That's what allows P4 to pick off mid-major players.

Super Skills no longer cause Wall Break. Super Skills triggered Wall Breaks that resulted in stage transition. However, this animation was long and affected the overall tempo of the game. We want to minimize timeframes where the game does not accept any inputs or where the players are just watching the screen, hence this change. Ground Assists can now be used while airborne. Aerial Assist only activates at or above the peak height of a standard jump. The attack has also been changed to an attack aimed at the ground. Marvel Tokon released some footage showcasing some of the new changes coming to the new build of the game:
Check out the full video below for all the changes coming to the Arc World Tour Finals build from March 20-22.
List of Changes:
- Tag and Assists will have their own dedicated buttons
- Start-up Frames and Animation frames for tagging between characters have been shortened
- You can cancel into non-rush assists during blockstrings (For example you can do a vertical assist from a block string)
- The Hitstop (the pausing between animations) for assists and assist callouts has been reduced.
- Aerial assist has been changed depending on the character
- You can call ground assist while airborne
- Super Skills (Supers) no longer cause a wallbreak when hit in the corner.
- After a wallbreak the opponent is now in a hard knockdown state. No longer able to tech roll.
- Link Attacks (Auto-Combos) no longer trigger on whiff (Unlike in Dragon Ball FighterZ for example)
- Aerial Combos does not increase the combo limit as much as before allowing you to do more juggles before the limit.
