VERSUS Faithful, please hear this call. Final Fantasy Versus XIII, the game that eventually became Final Fantasy XV, was originally directed by Tetsuya Nomura. Just 4 more days until May 8th, when we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of its announcement. 20 years… Versus will officially be vintage. When it was announced that Director Tetsuya Nomura had been forcibly removed from the broken project, my heart fell to pieces , and I know the same happened to all my brethren. The fact that we’re still pleading and begging for Versus 20 years later is a testament to the massive impact it had on us all. I’m in my early 30s now… I wasn’t even a teenager yet when the first trailer dropped, yet here I am. I’ve met even younger fans joining the fight, and I’m grateful they’ve caught interest. We need every bit of strength we can get, especially for the OG fans who lived through the radio silence and the development chaos that plagued Versus all the way to XV. Versus Faithful… Versus-Ghosts, reach down deep and feel the pain of all of us who fell. Our dreams were crushed, the promise abandoned, let that frustration fuel you. The truth is, now is the time to fight harder than ever. Tetsuya Nomura has openly mentioned his desire to retire on multiple occasions and has been training the younger generation to take over. We can’t let this chance slip away. Versus survives only in us. If Nomura retires without it happening, every trace of that dream will vanish. Unless we’re the ones who revive it, like we did with our desire for an FFVIIR, Versus will be lost forever to the passage of time. The thought of that scares me, it's haunting. Please keep talking about Versus XIII / XV and letting Square Enix know.
