I recently learned that there is a 41st District slate that crossed off the names of all 9 Orthodox Jewish candidates and those who associate with them, on the ballot because they consider orthodox Jews they don’t even know to be “awful,” while leaving non-Jewish candidates they also are not supporting untouched. This is happening during Jewish American Heritage Month in a district that is home to one of the largest Jewish communities in America. People should call this out and expose it for what it is.

37 years ago today, Elizabeth Taylor presented Michael Jackson with the Heritage Award at the 1989 Soul Train Music Awards and called him 'the true king of pop, rock and soul.' That night, Michael Jackson became the King of Pop.

@dcollinsWBAL @justin_fenton There has long been speculation and suggestion that he was murdered and that it was related to a case he was working on. The what or why has never been clear. I hope for all of us the truth is revealed and any culprits are exposed and made to account.

And what they released wasn’t even the entire autopsy report. Media org Lawyers are pursuing after the holiday.

In journalism we’re used to pointing out problems, not solving them. This was a chance to think differently and offer Baltimore kids and parents solutions. Take a look and tell us what you think. thebanner.com/education/k-12…

We set out to see if there were solutions. And we found at least one: It would get 35,000 students to school using yellow buses, vans and cars — in one trip.

We investigated just how bad the problem was. Turns out it’s terrible — a quarter of city buses that students take in the morning don’t show up on time. Or at all. And the result is Baltimore’s kids are left behind — often failing their first-period classes.

For more than a decade I’ve heard Baltimore students and parents complain about the messy and sometimes dangerous process of getting to school. And for more than a decade school leaders have ignored the problem.
