Only days before the Valencia floods, the PP regional government reached an agreement with Vox to weaken planning regulations so as to allow hotels to be built closer to the sea (halving the distance from 500m to 200). PP wanted to reduce it to 100m but was too much even for Vox lavanguardia.com/vida/20241108/…

This just keeps getting worse. On the day of the floods the Spanish government offered to send emergency management troops to Valencia FOUR TIMES before regional authorities finally accepted. The regional president was two hours late to the crisis meeting because he was AT LUNCH.
