There were only 4 of us, Republicans, that signed the discharge petition to force the vote to release the Epstein files. Thomas Massie, Nancy Mace, Lauren Boebert, and myself. Trump has come after us one by one ever since then. The President told Speaker Johnson not to allow the vote to happen, but we courageously went against the President and refused to budge and overrode the Speaker to force the vote on record. It was only when all Members of Congress had to vote on record did Republicans finally find their intestinal fortitude to do the right thing and vote YES to release the files. Until then, they were absurdly obedient to the President who was doing everything in his reign of terror to hold them back. Even now, all the files are still not released, and the Epstein class remains protected. Wars are being waged, the markets are being manipulated, and the average American is being driven further into ruin while the Epstein class reigns and has yet to face any accountability. I will never regret signing that discharge petition, refusing to back down, and resigning as I want nothing to do with a President and a Party that bows to the Epstein class.

The largest attack on Moscow since World War II took place last night. As far as I can tell, since I’ve been following the war, there has never been such a large number of drones reaching the Moscow Region, nor causing such disruption. The Moscow Oil Refinery was struck for the third time since the start of the war (it happened once in 2024 and once in 2025), but the success of last night’s attack is surprising even to me. Why do I say this: To protect the May 9 parade, the Moscow region and the capital itself had four rings of air defense, consisting of over 300 air defense systems of all types (Pantsir, Buk, Tor, S-300, S-400) along with hundreds of radars, acoustic detection systems, mobile teams in vehicles, and russian spy satellites used for detection—you get the picture: Moscow was the best-protected against air attack location on the planet. There was no longer comparable to 2024 or 2025. The russians have adapted. They understood the danger and adapted. However: Eight days later, today, multiple waves of Ukrainian drones and cruise missiles breached the russian multi-layered defense (part of which had been dispersed to other regions after the parade) and struck several targets that were considered nearly impossible to hit. Surprising even to me. At the beginning of the year, I said that Moscow would be hit by Ukrainian ballistic missiles. That hasn’t happened yet (because the FP-7 and FP-9 missile projects are still in development, though I stand by my prediction), but Moscow is already in flames. The Ukrainians are returning the war to the russians, sending it back to their own doorstep. No, this is not revenge for the 24 people (including 3 children) killed by the Russians two days ago in Kyiv. The Ukrainians are not using these attacks for revenge, but for military and political (read: diplomatic) gain. The russians’ crimes must be avenged through fair justice, and for that, we need the support and pressure of every European citizen on national and European politicians. The war is returning home, and that is setting Moscow ablaze. Slava Ukraini!

I’m struck by how often Trump referred to Xi as his “friend” and a “great leader.” Xi Jinping, chairman of the Chinese Communist Party, is a dictator. He also offered no such reciprocal praise for Trump. That asymmetry makes Trump appear in a visibly weaker position.

Ukrainian counterattacks in southern Ukraine since early 2026 have also forced Russia to choose between defending against Ukrainian counterattacks and allocating manpower and resources to priority sectors of the frontline, including the Fortress Belt. Ukraine’s recent successes are accomplishing tactical, operational, and strategic battlespace effects that undermine Putin’s narrative that the Ukrainian frontlines are on the verge of collapse. Two people involved in back-channel negotiations over ending the war told the FT that Putin’s ambitions are still to control all the Ukrainian territory between Russia and the Dnipro River, and possibly farther into Kyiv City and the port of Odesa, despite Russia’s stalling offensive. Putin’s thinking thus appears to be further and further removed from battlefield realities, likely resulting in the issuance of orders to the Russian military to make gains that it is not capable of making.
