@gabrielszatan This is a truly excellent article and entirely representative of my and our other party members' experiences this time around. I fear it is a matter of time until a tragedy occurs, with profound ramifications for the festival as a whole.
didn't love writing this, but thought it needed to be said
Glastonbury was great (always is), but the festival is clearly struggling to keep pace with audience demand in ways that risk eroding its best qualities
not too late to change course. here's how ra.co/features/4346
Unfortunately, @Orbinfo are unable to appear on the Glade Dome Thursday due to unforeseen circumstances. Longtime Orb collaborator, Grammy and BRIT award winner and founding member of Killing Joke, @youthmartin will join us in the celebration of Annie Nightingale.
“Have you discovered the Avalon Inn? One of the wonders of the Glastonbury world. It’s an old fashioned timber framed pub on two floors bustling with great drinks, fast service, live music & Avalon-oke.” Thanks for the fab write up @glastonbury 🫶🏼 glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/areas/bars/
Chemical Brothers, Glastonbury 2019
The gentle lull before 2 hours of tune after tune 🎵. (They walk on at 2 mins in). Opening with ‘Go’ and all of the visuals of a Chemical Brothers show. The hands play the correct keys at the right time 🎹👌🏻
Expect them to return to a main stage at Glasto 2024, it’s been five years 🐐

Currently absorbing first wave black metal via Mayhem’s 1990 tour, that first saw the corpse face painting with lead singer ‘Dead’. Love all that shit. Originality forged through seemingly unremarkable events. I’ve been at it for the last 3 days interspersed with ABBA.
If I can retire in 10 years I want to start a roving consultancy for the CAMRA GBG, so shite like this in a multi pump beard pub is dropped out the book for the nonsense it is.
I'm at the Bell in Bath again.
@jetfury Pre-Whores of Babylon, he'd been in band (Greenhorn) with my brother John (@SEODAH). He had a wicked sense of humour and huge charisma. Many a happy evening with him in various Bristol hostelries. Such a damn shame...way too young.
Very sad news that our old mate Shaun Atkins has passed away.
A truly lovely funny & talented man who’s light burnt so bright.
Who was the voice of the old crooner at the end of western Eyes from Portishead/Portishead
RIP mate ❤️
