I never flew Spirit airlines but I am upset that it will no longer operate. Over 17,000 hard working Americans out of a job. Biden should have allowed it to merge with JetBlue. It’s always sad to see a business that made it possible for people to do something that might otherwise be out of reach close.

Since the paid MAGA influencer losers are executing their marching orders on this Spirit story, let’s inject some reality. The Biden administration didn’t stop any Spirit mergers. The issue went to trial and a judge ruled that a Jet Blue/Spirit merger violated US antitrust laws, and would likely increase prices on consumers. The courts ruled, correctly, that the merger violated the law and would hurt Americans. @Aczar1Alan @tommysantos14 A merger with JetBlue would have seen Spirit quickly disappear. JetBlue planned to take what it wanted, scrap Spirit's pricing structure, and get rid of the people and equipment it did not want. Either way, the result is no Spirit, less competition, and higher prices.

Had Spirit Airlines been allowed to merge with Jet Blue, it would have given them much more resiliency.   Thanks to @SenWarren, @PeteButtigieg, and all of their friends in the Biden Administration who backed their enthusiastic opposition to the Spirit-Jet Blue merger, dozens of regional airports will now lose service and thousands of jobs will now be lost.
