I'm not sure what #ElonMusk means by "the dark". The shooting appears to be the act of "one guy who did one really bad thing because he found #CharlieKirk’s ideology personally offensive," with Robinson reportedly motivated by Kirk's views on transgender issues & other topics. Court documents & a note left by Robinson indicate he targeted Kirk because he "spreads too much hate" & "I had enough of his hatred."
