In your experience, what are some of the greatest threats to achieving optimal leadership?

@BloomsGreensIE We turned our backyard into a self sustainable garden a number of years ago. We could see the writing on the wall. I ditched the idea of a good lawn for productive land and the results have been memorable. Have not been to a supermarket in years.

Would you rather your food come from one massive farm, or someone down the road?

Integrity and Leadership During the Delta Force stress phase of the selection process, our rucksack required weight increased from 45 to 50 pounds and finally to 55 pounds. We ran solo through unforgiving terrain with our rucksack, a weapon, a map, and a compass. We were not allowed to use roads or trails. A few people would attempt to cheat the system and take a road or trail, thinking that they would get by with it. They did not know that cadres were watching. They were allowed to finish the course, but at the Commanders Board, they would be asked if they had used a road or trail. If they lied, they were immediately removed from the selection process. It was much better to own up to cheating the system than lying about it. Our moral compass is as important as our real compass. Before anything we attempt in life, it always turns out better to keep our moral compass, in other words, our integrity, as close to the vest as our directional one. Integrity, our personal character, is one of the foundational cornerstones of leadership.

Anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2009, what’s one game you still think about?

Gardening is full of surprises. I met a guy who raises cows/sells pickled veggies.We made a deal for half of my okra harvest and peppers for a quarter of his cow. It works out pretty even and I get to avoid supermarkets food bills/taxes for 6 more months, outstanding!

@DisrespectedThe If you have time at home, look up victory gardens from the WW2 era and make one. We did several years ago and often trade what comes out of our garden with others, 95% of what we eat comes from our backyard or others. Have not been to a supermarket in years. Great feeling.

The constant uncertainty that this country is headed in gives me massive anxiety. So, to help relieve that, I went and bought a bird feeder. I really enjoy watching the squirrels and birds in my back yard. It truly does alleviate some of that anxiety.

@CJGRISHAM Bartering was/is a way of life for a good amount of people. Most "retired" lawyers I know just barter on cases they want. I barter from my garden with farmers for cuts of meats and have not been to a supermarket in years.
