I wish people understood how stupid they sound when they say Russia is a "Christian nation." Russia is a secular state by its own Constitution, and Vladimir Putin only invokes Russian Orthodoxy for his own political gain. He uses Orthodoxy to frame the invasion of Ukraine as a "holy war," claiming that the West is "satanic" and that Russia is the last defender of traditional values. This is not just rhetoric; it is a tool he uses to consolidate power, silence domestic dissent, and justify the deaths of hundreds and hundreds of thousands of his own people by promising spiritual "cleansing" for those on the front lines. The exploitation of Christian symbols in Russia is being used to deepen the schism with the West and justify a war of aggression. Watching people claim we should "repair the schism" by supporting a regime that uses the Cross to validate the sword is beyond embarrassing. It's about POWER, not faith.
