# $CLOUD launch retrospective We wanted to do a truly fair launch, raising the bar and setting the new meta for all token launches going forward. And by and large I think we did a great job. Our goals: ✅ Overcommunicate, practice radical transparency ✅ Pay no CEX listing fees of any sort ✅ Give long-term aligned retail a good entry, instead of dumping on them ✅ Bring "earnestness" into crypto discourse and reshape how projects reward users We took many bets with our launch, but most of them went very right. We expected no CEX listings and ended up with ten. The Alpha Vault filled, and everyone who wanted to could get a great entry. We proved to the world that you can launch the Right Way, with full transparency, community engagement, and no insider deals, and still have it be a smashing success.💪 The airdrop was the one part we could have done better. Some people said incredibly mean things in the hopes that I would roll over and give them more. This disgusting behaviour is unfortunately the standard playbook. These people were relatively easy to ignore, but there were real and genuine users who felt disappointed and slighted, and I really wish I could have done more for these people. The purpose of identifying and rewarding earnestness was to pioneer a sea change in crypto. There is a rot in crypto and too often, bad people doing bad things get rewarded. I wanted good people to win instead – people who demonstrated genuine enthusiasm or helpfulness with no expectation of return. I absolutely believe in rewarding earnestness, but in hindsight, 50:50 was too much. We didn't do a good enough job of identifying earnest people, so that 50% was split amongst too few. Airdrops are gifts. Rather than thinking from the giver's (protocol's) perspective, I should have thought more about it from the POV of the receiver -- for someone who believed in Sanctum, put their life savings in, but kept quiet, seeing someone getting a lot more is like a slap in the face. I should have been more empathetic to these users, but did not have a good way to identify and reward them for Season 1. We will figure out a way to do so in the future, especially now that short-term farmers have started to leave -- we have already received many excellent suggestions. We also muddled it with lower-tier earnest people in an attempt to include more people – that was a mistake. We should have kept the bar as high as we wanted to at the start. Many of those with an earnestness allocation, particularly the ones in higher brackets, are genuinely good, long-term aligned people and I will bat for each and every one of them. Over the next weeks, months and years, I am sure they will step up and demonstrate their commitment to Sanctum and our mission, and win the hearts and minds of those who feel slighted. If we do this well, we can change the entire crypto meta going forward. We are beginning to take liquidity out of the LFG pool. This should allow for more granular price discovery. We are working with our market makers to make sure that there remains healthy liquidity across the ecosystem. As mentioned in our tokenomics, the funds will go to a treasury controlled by the team. I want to thank every single one of the people who have walked this long road with us. The @JupiterExchange team is absolutely GOATed. They are a shining beacon in all of crypto and this launch would absolutely not have been possible without them. Thank you so much to @0xSoju for going way above and beyond. And thank you to all of you who have reached out with support and kind words, even though we have never met. ## What's next? The $CLOUD launch is the first step of a very long road. The eventual goal is to build a truly onchain economy, and make everyone here rich, happy and fulfilled. Thanks to our unified liquidity layer (Router, Reserve, Infinity), we have driven the cost of setting up a new LST down to zero. The next step is to actually harness this power. We want to increase the proportion of liquid staked SOL from 6.5% to 100%. We have many avenues of attack to do so. We will work with awesome DeFi and CeFi projects to launch new and innovative LSTs: tensorSOL, banxSOL, kmnoSOL, bybitSOL, usdcSOL, etc. As @SlorgoftheSlugs said, crypto desperately needs to create experiences that aren't solely driven by financial gain. We will pioneer LST as "money verb": as a way for you to stream your SOL to buy goods, services, and experiences, rather than yet more yield. And of course, we will make it such that you will never have to offramp your funds with @basedappHQ and cardSOL. LSTs let anyone create capital with attention (cc @cryptoaioli), allowing them to earn money without hurting the end user. This will become a massive boon for celebrities, creators, and artists of all kinds, and I hope this sort of non-predatory support model becomes the new meta going forward. Can businesses look on-chain as the default to raise capital and take payment? We are at the cusp of this being possible with Jupiter LFG and Sanctum LSTs. Very soon you will see the first projects that will use LSTs as a way to bootstrap -- @Pathfinders__ , @Raiba_AI, @RaposaCoffeeCo and @drinkflojo . LSTs will help people fulfill their dreams – whether you're an independent artist or a Web3-native business. This is truly PPP, positive-sum -- using the power of LSTs to fund something in the world that would otherwise not exist. We have been building as a small team, but this will change very soon. $CLOUD is a powerful tool that lets us leverage the attention, wisdom, and alignment of every single holder. Sanctum is no longer a project, it is a community. We already have many excellent suggestions from $CLOUD holders, and I am excited for all of us to build the onchain economy – together. LFG! 🚀🚀🚀

Even though we are not hitting new ATH’s, the difference green days have on your mood compared to red days is certainly notable. Checked my portfolio for the day, saw green and it just feels good

@jords I really like Oura rings, seem a little less invasive to me and track lots. Not great if you enjoy weights. also there’s an ongoing subsciption. But it lets you wear classic watches and still track. Whoop obviously another classic band that’s got great tracking! 🤝

Today, we are excited to kick off the next round of LFG! Expect to meet the candidates over the next week, and the vote will be on 22nd May! This round comes with a few key changes, with the goal of implementing the lessons learnt from the past votes and community feedback to improve the LFG platform. We will also release a detailed calendar of events on Monday, containing AMA dates, Planetary Call appearances and the vote itself. 1 Vote, 1 Winner We envision LFG as a platform for the projects with the strongest and most widespread community buy-in to launch a token on Solana. That’s why, for this vote the project with the most votes from every round will launch on LFG. This is a big change, but ultimately allows for closer intimacy and collaboration between the winner and the Jupiter team and community, which is a key ingredient for a successful launch. Blind Voting Over the last 2 votes for LFG, votes were public and available on the UI. What we observed is that projects with a lead will see their lead build over-time, and generate tons of momentum. We’ve experimented many times with displaying the results, and think it’s worth experimenting with keeping the results hidden for this vote. Blind voting will remove the bias for voters to vote for the project that is currently ahead in the hopes of receiving more rewards. Expect more discussions about this after the next vote, before a decision is made. Additionally, @MeteoraAG has made significant progress on anti-bot features, and expect to see them when UpRock launches this month.
