Such a very tragic loss of life today. All thoughts with the families, survivors, and all involved, including the medical school students. #AhmedabadPlaneCrash

At 5pm on 24th January 2024, my darling husband Tim Joss was killed in an accident. He still had so much to give the world. A truly good man, visionary, inspirational and loved by so many. We had 18 yrs of blissful love. Those yrs are what comforts me now

Simple 2nd concept: MPGN - Subendothelial injury with Ig, complement= leukocyte infiltration =inflammation - Remember GBM protects! - So, the glomerulus makes NEW GBM below deposits= double contour=new GBM walls off deposits =thus reduces leukocyte influx= less/no inflammation

Love my new book! Of course chapter 14 is the best bit 😉 Recommended for all histopathology/forensic pathology/neuropathology trainees, as well as practising consultants. A wealth of autopsy knowledge from fabulous authors. #autopsy #forensicpath #autopsyhistology

A study led by Prof Francesca Ciccarelli analysed genetic data from 1K people with oesophageal adenocarcinoma and 350 with Barrett’s oesophagus and found that defects in a gene called CDKN2A were more common in people with Barrett’s oesophagus who never progressed to cancer.

A new protocol for the analysis of self-collected cervical samples could reduce the need for follow-up clinician screening for many women, and result in more rapid referral for gynaecology assessment for others. This could improve cervical cancer screening procedures in the NHS.
