@jackson5payne The use of "gutted" makes it seem like you are very emotionally connected with Dallin Hall.
English

@JoMo1408 Getting upset by a lower seed in the first weekend of the tournament isn't a tough way to end a career?
English

@jackson5payne Losing to a 6 seed from SEC, close game...I guess from his own perspective it's always tough to have it end. I see it as nice player, had good moments and bad in the game, made it to round of 32...didn't see it as a big deal. Was wondering if you meant the ball off finger call.
English

@ToddLlewellyn Well, you did glorify two counts of fraud by your company. Still amazed you would put that on twitter. In case you need your memory jogged:
1. Shutting off someone's water w/o consent
2. Taking payment for work that was not done
You guaranteed I'll never hire you.
English

@JimmieChesh @LVCoug @MisterBYU @BYUfootball You need to be clear about what you are saying. Are you saying that your seats were offered to other people at a higher price and you were not given the opportunity to pay that higher price to retain your seats?
English

@LVCoug @MisterBYU @BYUfootball Let season ticket holders renew their seats. Only make them available if they’re surrendered. Sure raise prices and if someone is priced out, that’s fine. But don’t reseat. Let the ST holders choose. It’s ridiculous.
English

Looks like we are about to lose our @BYUfootball season tickets that we’ve had for 16 years all because of a couple days separating us from people paying an extra $1,000. This whole system is broken. Zero loyalty to the die hard fans. Truly terrible thing. Sucks. #BYUFootball

@CriddleBenjamin @espnthefan This is like the 5th former player that has basically been saying KY's coaching sucks without actually using those words. I wish they would all stop beating around the bush and just say it. Yeah, he's recruiting 5 stars but his coaching stinks.
English

Former BYU Basketball Player Mekeli Wesley joined @espnthefan to diagnose what happened in BYU's loss to Texas:
Q: Mekeli, watching that game last night—were you as frustrated as I was watching that Texas big dominate the glass and the paint?
Mekeli Wesley:
Definitely. I think Cougar Nation as a whole was pretty frustrated.
Watching from the outside, a couple of things had me scratching my head. First off, why didn’t we make adjustments? When a guy has 15 points and 11 rebounds in the first half—and has as many rebounds as your entire team—you start thinking, “Okay, what are we going to do differently?”
Maybe you pack it in with a zone, force Texas to beat you from three. Maybe you start fronting him, switching things up—just try to disrupt his rhythm.
But it didn’t seem like any adjustments were made. He just kept doing his thing.
And then when you look at our centers—Keba and Ahmed—they combined for 33 minutes, which is about what their big played. But the production wasn’t even close.
Our guys had four total rebounds—he had 16 by himself. Our guys had five points—he had 23, and probably could’ve had over 30 if he hit his free throws.
So yeah, definitely frustrating. You just would’ve liked to see more adjustments to try and slow him down.
Q: Another thing Kevin Young mentioned—finding shooters this offseason.
Because when doubles came to AJ or Rob, BYU didn’t have consistent knockdown shooters. The pick-and-pop wasn’t there, the corner threes weren’t falling.
That spacing just wasn’t consistent.
Mekeli Wesley: Yeah, and I think Dawson Baker would’ve helped a lot there. He’s a crafty scorer, a guy who can knock down shots.
And we forget—Richie Saunders was shooting the ball really well too.
When you lose guys like that, it’s tough to replace that production.
And we saw flashes from other guys stepping up—but it wasn’t consistent. It felt few and far between.

@DJJazzyJody So, 1 crowd measuring ROI on B12 finish and NCAA tournament results. Then you bring up recruiting and NIL. Both overlooking the most basic measurement of ROI...revenue! I will say, KY needs to meet expectations next year or all of that will fall apart.
English

BYU haters are ignoring all the amazing PR and exposure the program has received, the big-time recruits that are saying yes or considering the team because of AJ (KY and NIL $) and the fact the Cougars are now part of the national conversation. ROI isn't based on results alone.
Brittany G@Fibby1123
Sure. If Utah finishes better than 10th in the Big 12 next season, we’ll call Utah’s ROI higher than BYU’s.

@jennmckay007 I should have mentioned that both loved Logan and both have been very successful in their chosen professions. The nephew has worked at Blue Origin for the last 20 years and the niece gained great mother avoidance skill and moved to Georgia.
English

@jennmckay007 I had a nephew that went there specifically for the space engineering program and a niece that went there to get away from her mom.
English

@JacobCHatch I'm not arguing that he should or shouldn't do anything, but I just want to point out that AJ will have zero need for that back-end year. It's amazing how society has trained our brains to value money that we will never need or spend.
English

The notion of AJ Dybantsa staying at BYU is fun & all, but it’s not happening. It’s not for the reason(s) you think as it’s an 8-to-9 figure issue.
BYU could easily set him up NIL-wise for another year to equal an NBA rookie-level salary ($10-15 million) imo, but you have to realize he’s taking a year off the back end of his NBA career that likely will be worth $90-100+ million based on the projections of the growth of NBA super max salaries over the next decade or so.
Does BYU’s booster base want to pay him $100 million? He’s likely to stick around in that case. Otherwise, get ready to root for him playing for the Utah Jazz (here’s me manifesting something I want)
Brigham's Burner@FiredUpCoug
Bold Prediction: AJ Dybansta isn't messing around. He really is considering staying for another season at BYU. The kind of competitor that he is, it's bothering him that he got bounced in the first round. I predict he'll stay another season for his legacy.

Why is no one talking about how much BYU spent on their roster yet they are a R64 exit?

@LawlessRepublic If you've ever played for a good coach, you know there are a dozen things that should have been drilled into the team from day one of practice that KY clearly overlooks. He's just not a good coach. For now, he's riding on his NBA clout. It's sad to see.Hope he re-creates himself.
English

@LawlessRepublic KY should have known very early his team was confused defensively, he failed coaching a workable scheme. Guys don't block out. KY designed the iso spacing and just put everything on AJ. KY never had AJ in the low post...never. Why? A lot of good would have come from that.
English

@bearforheisman @LawlessRepublic My neighbor that does their homework for them broke her fingernail.
English

@LawlessRepublic Why do we keep saying six? Who is this sixth injured player I don’t know about?
English

@BrandonCGurney Example of bad coaching. When pressing we have repeatedly failed to seal the sideline. This is fundamental and just one example of bad coaching. You see bad coaching throughout, 3d, switching, help d, blocking out, shot selection. It's pervasive.
