@RabbiPoupko Please reassess Frankl: tabletmag.com/sections/arts-…
English

Many people know the story of Jewish psychiatrist Viktor Frankl, the father of logotherapy and positive psychology.
Frankl wrote about his time in Auschwitz, and how only meaning gave him the ability to survive the horrors of the Holocaust.
Few people know Frankl nearly escaped the Nazis, but decided to remain in Austria to be there for his parents.
Frankel had a visa to America, but his parents in Vienna didn’t.
One day he came to his parents’ home, about to announce if he would be leaving or not. On the table, there was a marble tablet his father took from the site of a synaoguge vandalized by Austrian Nazis.
The tablet was a piece of the ten commandments on top of the ark.
Frankel asked his father which commandment it is and was told it was: “Honor your father in mother so that your days are longer.” Frankel decided to stay right then. Eventually, Frankl ended up in Auschwitz, where he realized the only way to survive was by giving meaning to the suffering and having meaningful plans after liberation.
He went on to write “Man’s Search for Meaning” and is the father of positive psychology.

This stuff is kind of despicable. Not that it's inherently impermissible to ever use dead US soldiers to make any sort of political point. Go ahead, if you want. But splashing around their photos, proclaiming they died for Jeffrey Epstein, is just uniquely and gratuitously sick

@BriannaWu Those who would deny trans healthcare also deny abortion and life-saving repro care. Their outlook is puitive. Your understanding and awareness is not theirs--they view being trans as transgression/non-conformity/a choice when it is not.
English

@JoPerryAuthor I literally just need access to the medication that makes my life possible. I am not here to advocate for gender non-conformity.
English

@BriannaWu I understand, but I believe you more faith in people than you should. They want to crush any and all gender non-conformity. They want to end gay marriage. They want to publicly humiliate trans people, to crush them bec. they are a useful scapegoat with no political power.
English

@JoPerryAuthor That’s actually not true. Returning to a definition of trans that is non insane is the best way to protect us.
English

Gender ideology says I have to consider this person just as trans as I am.
This is obvious nonsense, and I am not going to do it anymore. Actual transsexuals need to take back our medical condition and kick out the fetishists.
I’ve spent a great deal of my adult life undergoing painful procedures to undo the damage of puberty so I can be myself. I find it deeply offensive someone can paint their fingernails and claim to be the same thing.

English

@BriannaWu Policing the gender of expression of others will not help anyone, esp. trans people whom you know are under assault right now.

Great review, but posting it is just too much for me.

@trishaposner Carlson, and the others like on the right and left would return us to the period that led to the Holocaust because they want a second one.

Tucker Carlson’s comments about Oswald Mosley go beyond legitimate debate. As a Jewish child in postwar London, I lived with the antisemitism Mosley unleashed.
So when Carlson praises Mosley, I hear something far more dangerous.

It is disgusting that Jews are subjected to bad-faith, supremacist, shit like this and required to "prove" their realness.
HonestReporting@HonestReporting
The Khazar theory isn’t “forbidden history.” It’s a recycled conspiracy used for decades to deny Jewish identity. Now it’s being pushed to millions by Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens. Same narrative, bigger audience.
English

@LekhtNaya It isn’t provoked by anything Jews want or do; the animus originates in them. It is a malignant conspiracist supremacist fantasy that defines them, not us.
English

After more than two decades in what has unfortunately been called “pro-Israel advocacy,” I have come to a difficult conclusion: we were asking the wrong thing. The goal was never supposed to be getting people to love Israel or embrace Zionism. The goal should have been far simpler, and far more urgent: to reject hate.
Today’s most dangerous form of Jew-hatred is antizionism. And rejecting it does not require love (in fact, our desire to be loved and accepted is part of a problem that originates in our exilic experience). You do not have to love the Jewish people to refuse bigotry. For years, our strategy was shaped by a flawed assumption embedded in a familiar question: How do we combat hate? Implicit in that question is the belief that hate’s opposite is love, and so we tried to make ourselves lovable: visit Israel. See for yourself. Understand us. Support us.
But hate, like love, is not rational. It cannot be argued away by charm or replaced through affection. To confront hate is not to demand love. It is to insist on a moral boundary: this is wrong.
We do not need people to become Zionists. We do not need them to support Israel. We need them to reject a movement of hate, one that marks Jews as “Zionists” in order to target, isolate, and ultimately justify violence against them.

@WonderKing82 Voted against the Brady Act. Voted to permit guns on Amtrak. Wrote that anger caused cancer in women.
English

@Homiedino The notion that Israel, a nation that has existed for 78 years has provided a genocide template for all genocides is libelous propaganda. Meanwhile, I am asking S. W. why Israel determines which American candidates she supports.
English

They are! The genocide in Sudan is currently being committed by forces aligned with the UAE and Saudi Arabia, more American allies. Unfortunately most people do not care about Sudan because it’s Africa and Africa is an afterthought to most Americans.
There are other foreign conflicts that deserve more attention, particularly the occupation of Western Sahara by Morocco (an Israel-styled occupation, ethnic cleaning, and land grab of indigenous people in North Africa that gets zero attention).
Palestine is particularly important to me because I am Palestinian American and what happens there directly impacts my family. There’s also no greater FP action creating rapid destabilization and mass violence in the Middle East than America’s devotion towards enabling the worst of Israel’s instincts. Other than the Russia Ukraine conflict, there is no more consequential active international conflict than this one.
English

The thing I find most annoying about Palestine becoming the left’s omnicause is it has wiped out activism and messaging on nearly every other topic. Nobody talks about climate change, universal healthcare, corporate consolidation, housing, global far-right ascension, worker’s rights, you name it. Don’t get me wrong, Palestine is very important, but it’s not the only thing that matters and every unrelated group shifting their focus to Palestine effectively cedes the ground on every other issue to the right.
English

@shannonrwatts @LExpeditionary And why is it assumed that when a PAC that is pro-Israel spends money in an election, their investment will pay off? AI and Crypto spent millions and millions in Illinois and the candidates they supported lost.
English

@shannonrwatts @LExpeditionary You are fortifying anti-Jewish tropes of Jewish corruption & control whether you intend to or not—unless you hold Israel eliminationist views yourself.
English

I didn’t say it did. I oppose Dems taking AIPAC money. However, that has nothing to do with the AIPAC tracker which routinely includes J Street contributions for some as AIPAC and don’t for others. It also calls out candidates who don’t take AIPAC for being pro-Israel.
Nina Turner@ninaturner
Calling out AIPAC is not antisemitism. Conflating pro-Israel lobbying with Judaism, however, is. @TrackAIPAC generally does good work and has done a lot to raise awareness about AIPAC.
