Supported by @WeSeeHope, we recently rolled out a child protection project in Kilifi County. Through this project, we seek to reduce push factors that lead to streetism among vulnerable children in the county.

This year, under our @Taksvarkki_ry funded project, we are supporting 16 youth in vocational training among other initiatives. The training is aimed at enhancing their income security, while reducing their relapse to negative influences like drug and substance abuse and crime.

Our 2 years @commonwealthorg funded project has greatly helped to influence health seeking behavior of People Living and Working in the Streets (PLAWS) by building capacities and advocacy. The video (muted) captures moments between staff, Community Health Champions and PLAWS.

Around the world, 1 in 13 boys experiences sexual abuse as well as exploitation or exposed to inappropriate sexual materials which have long-term negative consequences for boys’ health and wellbeing. We must act to protect boys from these consequences. @FFEveryChild @Gvrckenya

By challenging existing taboos and harmful social norms around sexual violence, we can encourage more boys to speak more comfortably about this issue and how it affects them. Let's empower boys to speak out against sexual exploitation. @Pendekezo_Letu @Gvrckenya @FFEveryChild

'A story is best told by its owner.' Last year, through our @Taksvarkki_ry funded project, in partnership with @HRmuseo, documented stories of Street connected youth in Nairobi. The youth had an opportunity to view the final production ahead of an exhibition at @HRmuseo in March.

By our continued partnership with the Nairobi County Government, we are promoting inclusive health care delivery in support of People Living and Working in the Streets. Last week, we built capacities of healthcare providers on rights-based service delivery. @commonwealthorg

Thanks @KenyattaUni, @t_milej and the team for exposing legal gaps that exacerbate street connectedness of children. Having a home is their right. To many more! @Frank_Aywa @mukoyaeric @Jobnjaraganu @john20joseph

Last week, we held a camp for 50 newly recruited Street Connected Youths from Dandora and Kayole, as part of a 3-year transformation journey supported by @WeSeeHope. This activity promotes learning, team cohesion and self-reflection in a safe environment, away from the streets.
