@PGSMurray @willnorman @cityoflondon No legal requirement to stop at red light
I never stop there’s nothing the police can do about it
English

@manutdM16 @marksandspencer @StevensCS1 I think even the police force would agree they need more resources. But I also think big chains such as @marksandspencer and the like need to doing much more to protect customers, staff and their stock. Proactive security willing to go hands on for a start.
English

@JoeBlog377719 @marksandspencer @StevensCS1 Yep all supermarkets allow for it . We so need to get a grip in this country. I’d say we need another 50,000 Police and they all need to to armed with guns and they need to scare people. The wronguns are running it
English

Hi @marksandspencer I just saw a man fill a large backpack with steaks at your St Albans store. I reported him and absolutely nothing was done to stop him by your staff. I assume that if you do nothing then your honest customers are having to pay a surcharge for the theft? Please advise.
English

@marksandspencer @StevensCS1 Colin. I’ll answer that for you. The answer is, yes. Ultimately, the cost is passed on to paying customers. Although each store will likely have a loss buffer, so M&S will have already factored this in up to a certain point. Don’t expect them to answer that on social media though
English

@StevensCS1 Hi Colin, thank you for taking the time to get in touch, I'm really sorry to hear about this. I've had this raised with our store team to look into ❤️- Michael

@brightonsnapper With the exception of Bournemouth… The mess will be left by locals!!
English

Beaches across Britain left in 'absolute mess' following UK heatwave, with overflowing bins, glass bottles and disposable barbecues left behind - forcing furious locals to endure two-day clean-up | Daily Mail Online dailymail.com/travel/article…
English

@SamMarch3 @SirApexTv Yeah - Give that a go and see what a Magistrate says….
English

@SirApexTv Arguably unlawful arrest caused by big ego.
A mixed picture.
English

@metoffice Tell South east water they can turn the taps back on. Apparently the 8th wettest winter in history and just three sunny days they ‘have no water left?!’ 🤷♂️🤪😂😂😂😂😂😂
English

@WestHam_Central Like most of them… got the club relegated now want to sod off to a newly promoted or moediocrw prem team 🤷♂️
English

@cjnewbs @Hill_Darran Unfortunately Craig, lots of aviation ‘colleagues’ are jumping on here on their own accounts to spout about how ‘fantastic’ this was handled. This is a child. A disabled child. 🤷♂️ But here people are defending how this was handled! 🤪🫣
English

@Hill_Darran "based on security"?
Are you under the impression that the presence of Tourettes syndrome would enable him to manifest an IED on demand?
English

The duty manager handled this encounter incredibly well.
FWIW the right decision based on security not on disability.
People can get offended all they like, but airlines are safer because of this.
Can you imagine the reaction onboard if they shouted this out mid air.

This is so hard on Mason but Airport Duty Manager for BA is in tricky position here and handles it well. This also tells us something very interesting about the way society perceives what is an incredibly high risk activity that relies on “total safety”
English

@danbarker Yeah, now take the same video next week… it will be empty. Half term and hot weather, people want to get away. 🤷♂️
English

@DJDirrtyDogg @aviationbrk This type comment shows the lack of understanding around Tourette’s. It is a recognised disability. A protected characteristic. He hasn’t above the law, you are correct. But he can’t help it as he is disabled. This case will see changes in aviation industry without a doubt.
English

@JoeBlog377719 @aviationbrk Protected characteristic? What you babbling on about. Having a disability doesnt put you above the law btw 👍
English

🚨 NEW: Armed police marched a 13-year-old boy with Tourette syndrome out of London Gatwick Airport on Saturday after he shouted "bomb", leaving him and his family stranded.
British Airways refused Mason and his family from boarding the Spain-bound flight at the gate due to safety risks.
A spokeswoman for BA said it was "an extremely difficult, complex and distressing situation", adding Mason's condition was not the reason for its decision.
"Due to a number of contributing factors, the decision was made not to allow the group to travel on the flight," she said.
Tourette syndrome is a neurological condition, external that causes people to make involuntary sounds or movements, known as tics.

@LucyGoBag Maria deserves a promotion. Perfectly handled, calm, clear.
The part where she retierates they have to take it incredibly seriously is all people need to know.
English

@LucyGoBag I think it also shows how much more training the aviation industry requires on dealing with children with disabilities.
English

@DJDirrtyDogg @aviationbrk Safety before a protected characteristic… ouch… really?? 🤔
English

@JoeBlog377719 @aviationbrk In fact its the opposite. They have proven themselves to put safety above all else. She will be promoted soon on the back of her handling of this.
English

@m1871e @CrossCountryUK For this exact reason I make sure I can drive everywhere 😂
English

Cheers @CrossCountryUK for the absolutely shocking service. Into Reading 8 hours and 8 minutes after I left Manchester. Muppets.

micah@m1871e
20:25 from Manchester to Reading cancelled, now expected to get the 22:14 to Euston and then Elizabeth it back to Reading at 2am. Some company you lot are @CrossCountryUK
English

@IanGatters @aviationbrk The fact you can’t see the issue here, just like this BA member of staff couldn’t either, highlights precisely the issue neurodivergent children and their families face in society. A lack of understanding and very narrow thought.
English

@c_r_5 @aviationbrk In a world where companies such as BA love screaming for roof they are as out how they value diversity, incidents such as this highlight a lack of understanding, a lack of training and lack of diverse thought and empathy.
English

@JoeBlog377719 @aviationbrk Taking security very seriously is not a PR disaster
They should make no apology
Waving a letter around you could've made up & printed off, doesn't mean you can make bomb threats
BA was right to take the matter seriously
Good on them
English

@c_r_5 @aviationbrk Your opinion. But I am telling you the PR backlash on BA is awful. You are right in some respect’s. BA will hide behind ‘policy and security’. However, many will view this incident as a lack of understanding by BA and the aviation industry as a whole of neurodiversity. 1/2
English

@Nanoshimoto @aviationbrk The airline were advised that child may say things that they cannot control well in advance. It’s called diversity. Something that BA clearly have no training or common sense with. Comparing a child with Tourette’s and someone with COPD is comparing apples and pears. 🤷♂️
English

@JoeBlog377719 @aviationbrk If your disability means you shout "bomb" at random intervals, air travel, except by private jet is not an appropriate means of travel for you. If you have lungs affected by COPD meaning you need home oxygen , air travel is not an appropriate means of travel for you.Etc.Not hard.
English

@ChesnoidGaming Ha! Not in the southeast it isn’t… still a heatwave.
