Streets of Havana right now. Full blackout across the entire island. Hospitals, nursing homes, people's lives....all in total darkness. For US imperialism.

The United States is a genocidal enemy of humanity, a greedy and gluttonous rogue nation, a world-historical menace whose crimes and atrocities must be stopped and those who've ordered, enabled, and committed these horrors held accountable.

As US starves Cuba of energy & food, neocon Cotton wants DOD to be ready for a "humanitarian crisis," "flow of refugees," or "civil disorder" in Cuba Southcom is "prepared to support DHS in a mass migration event" including a "camp to deal with those migrants" at Gitmo, he says

Marco Rubio is lying to your face ‼️ The US siege was specifically designed to sanction third parties that choose to sell energy to Cuba on their own sovereign terms — or worse, to confiscate their private property if they dare to provide it.
Department of State@StateDept

SECRETARY RUBIO: Cuba’s economy doesn’t work. It has survived on subsidies from the Soviet Union and now from Venezuela. They don’t get subsidies anymore so they’re in a lot of trouble.

Claiming that communism doesn't work because the US has been able to successfully strangle Cuba is like claiming you're a better person than your neighbor because you were able to shoot him in his driveway.
Tosca Austen@ToscaAusten

🔦Cuba just went DARK—total nationwide blackout, millions in the pitch black, no lights, no fans, in the ‘workers’ paradise.’ This is what happens when 67 years of communism finally runs out of Venezuelan oil… and Trump slams the door shut on the rest. US fuel cutoff + crumbling socialist grid = lights OUT. @POTUS Trump: ‘Cuba’s a failed nation… something will happen pretty quickly.’ Just 90 miles from Florida, a communist dictatorship crumbling under maximum pressure. No more propping up tyrants with our weakness. Make Cuba libre REAL. Trump is delivering after decades of talk. Socialism fails.

We are laying siege to the island of Cuba, turning off the lights in homes, hospitals, and the country's most critical infrastructure. These are war crimes: lethal, cruel, and criminal acts of collective punishment. It is sociopathy dressed up as foreign policy.
Acyn@Acyn

CNN: Breaking news. Cuba's electrical grid has suffered a complete and total collapse. This is according to the country's power operator. It's the first nationwide blackout since the US effectively shut off the flow of oil to Cuba

This is the most unfiltered exposure of Israeli war crimes you will ever hear. Professor Sachs explicitly calls out Israel as a rogue, insane regime committing mass murder and genocide in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran with full US complicity. The world must stop this madness.

Writers Against the War on Gaza
"No words can adequately capture the evil I have witnessed or experienced at their hands. I do not have sufficient language to describe what they have done to us; what Gaza smells like, feels or looks like up close now. But it is the kind of knowledge that alters one's life and makes you understand that the very least one can do is to speak truth to power, to have the courage of one's convictions, to exercise the privilege of having a voice, however muted or shadow-banned it might be, to speak forcefully for those who are defenseless against hateful colonial state violence. That is all the power I have, and I will continue to use it so long as I breathe."

This is why we must get everyone to understand that sanctions are not an “alternative” to war; they are an act of war. Sanctions have killed over 38 million people since 1971. Half of those were children under the age of five. End the Siege on Cuba!

🇺🇸⚔️🇮🇷 A common claim from US officials is that Iran is the number one state sponsor of terrorism in the world. However, that is the most ridiculous assertion imaginable. After 9/11, the Iranian government gave their condolences and offered to help the United States fight against Al Qaeda in the Middle East because the terrorist organization had been a long-time enemy of Iran. Russia made similar assurances to Washington, as they had been fighting against Al Qaeda in the Chechen Wars. At first, Iran was very cooperative with US forces, helping the NATO coalition launch strikes on Al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan. However, just a few months later, George W. Bush gave his infamous 2002 State of the Union address where he declared the existence of an Axis of Evil that included Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Syria, Libya and Cuba, all of whom had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks. And it was on that basis that the Bush Administration, as confirmed by General Wesley Clark established a five-year plan to attack seven Middle Eastern countries who also had nothing to do with 9/11 and were sworn enemies of Al Qaeda: 🇮🇶 Iraq (2003) 🇸🇾 Syria (2011-2024) 🇱🇧Lebanon (2006, 2024) 🇱🇾 Libya (2011) 🇸🇴 Somalia (2007) 🇸🇩Sudan (2019) 🇮🇷 Iran (2026) After the US invaded Iraq and toppled Saddam Hussein, they allowed Al Qaeda and ISIS to rise as some of the most powerful political forces in the country and then later armed them in Libya and Syria to carry out regime change against Muammar Gaddafi and Bashar al-Assad via Operation Timber Sycamore. Al-Baghdadi and Jolani had become puppets of the US, Britain and Israel in Syria in a landscape of chaos that was manufactured by the CIA, MI6 and Mossad. Jake Sullivan openly declared that Al Qaeda was on our side in Syria and Hillary Clinton expressed hope for religious conflict breaking out between Sunnis and Shiites in the country on the grounds that it would be beneficial to Israel. Furthermore, these terror groups had the full support of Western media who claimed that they reformed themselves simply just because they wore suits. In 2014, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps under the command of General Qasem Soleimani took to the frontlines in the fight against Al Qaeda and ISIS in Iraq and Syria. The Russians joined forces with the Iranians and President Assad in 2015. And despite General Soleimani’s role in fighting ISIS, the United States killed him in a drone strike in January 2020 in the name of “fighting terrorism.” The United States was the main sponsor of these Sunni extremist terror groups going all the way back to the 1980s, offering weapons and financial assistance to the Afghan Mujahideen via Operation Cyclone during the war with the Soviet Union. British media was writing articles referring to Osama bin Laden as a freedom fighter. Washington’s grudge with the Iranians is that they are arming the Palestinian resistance fighters who are waging an armed struggle for freedom from a genocidal Israeli occupation that has killed 680K Palestinians in the most recent war. To put it very simply, the biggest state sponsors of terror are the US, Britain, EU and Israel. Iran and Russia are among the most prominent enemies of terrorism around the globe. The United Nations Security Council just passed Resolution 2817 demanding that Iran stop defending itself from US and Israeli attacks. This is straight off the pages of a Franz Kafka novel. In Kafka’s novel, The Trial, the accused, Josef K, is caught in a legal process where every action he takes to defend himself is logged as a new piece of evidence of his guilt. Putting on its most Kafkaesque hat, Security Council’s condemnation shamelessly focuses on Iran’s retaliation rather than the initial strikes that triggered the war on February 28. Just like in Kafka’s novels, the act of defending oneself is transformed into the primary offense, creating a spiral where the accused is condemned for not submitting quietly to his dissolution. During the UNSC meeting, China and Russia pointed out the obvious: The war began on 28 February with military strikes on Iran by the US and Israel, strikes that occurred without Security Council authorisation. Russia noted the irony of the Council demanding “maximum restraint” from a nation whose Supreme Leader had just been killed. Just like in Kafka’s novel, the UNSC kept making demands that are physically impossible for the recipient to fulfill while remaining alive or free. Bahrain explicitly invoked Article 51 of the UN Charter, emphasising the Gulf states’ right to self-defence, while Iran’s invocation of the same Article 51 was the basis for its retaliation, which the resolution then condemns. Basically, the UNSC resolution reaffirmed the right of “collective self-defense” for the Gulf nations but was silent on the same right for Iran. In other words, the United Nations is saying the Gulf states can host US military bases that make strikes on Iran possible, but Iran may not touch these bases. Kafka would be envious.

@JohnsonMatt4759 @Tyre_94 I don’t know if I agree with you on that and I think the point here is that instead of spending billions on needless wars which kill thousands, we could be spending it to actually help people.

@Tyre_94 @JoeBullis The problem here is that when something costs nothing, it has no intrinsic value. I know plenty of people who graduated and got their stuff together in college bc it had a price tag on it. Myself included.
