Suicide found the PGA Tour this week but it wasn’t its first time finding Shane Lowry. He’s lost three Clara schoolmates to it. Lowry stopped and reflected on “the lowest place in the world” and plenty more, in typically raw fashion. For @ExaminerSport irishexaminer.com/sport/golf/ari…

@AusODonnell @NutmegStOfMind It’s not that deep Austin. It’s a shitty seat but I’ve seen many of them. I fought cancer and worked my fucking stones off for 20 years to be at another World Cup. I know reality very well.

First time I’ve ever had a restricted view in a World Cup media tribune. Death, taxes and dreadful US press boxes. MetLife joins a long list (it was actually already on it).

Mazraoui had his arm around Ayyoub Bouaddi as both teams made for their dressing-rooms. They've both stood out, Bouaddi particularly so. Very fun first half. Could easily be 2-2 or more. So much quality out there and just enough chaos too. Let's hope it doesn't drop.

Morocco could genuinely have been a couple of goals to the good and then Vini does that. The game we all thought could be the first cracker of this World Cup is living up to it.

What a gorgeous Moroccan goal to open the scoring here in Jersey. So aesthetically pleasing. Gorgeous Brahim Diaz ball cut Brazil's centre in two.

If we came in here wondering whether Ancelotti can make magic happen by deploying full backs who play in Russia and Saudi Arabia, Roger Ibañez giving us some early doubts. Very shaky start. Morocco zipping it around.

Brazil’s first ever World Cup game with a foreign manager at the helm. Carlo vs Morocco. It’s very hot. Feels like it could be hectic too.

Wrote about this exact moment and the moments we then saw inside the stadium today as Cyle Larin lifted Canada all the way up. Can a country lift its team? Yes. And this team of all teams is ready to feed off Canada’s love. For @TorontoStar thestar.com/sports/soccer/…

Maybe this World Cup is a country for old(ish) men. Bosnia thought they could do it without Edin Dzeko and couldn't. Jesse Marsch thought he might do it without Cyle Larin and also couldn't. Match report from Toronto, for @ExaminerSport irishexaminer.com/sport/soccer/a…

Jonathan David and Cyle Larin started both of Canada's warm-up games together, Jesse Marsch signalling they'd be his World Cup strike pairing. An hour into the tournament it's Promise David and Tani Oluwaseyi leading the line. Not without justification but tells a story.

Looks like a triple change coming for Canada here: Ali Ahmed, Jacob Shaffelburg and Promise David are ready to roll.

Alphonso Davies is sitting on a cooler off to the side of the Canada bench with his chin resting in his hand, watching on. He's seen another incredible Canadian chance come and go. And also watched Derek Cornelius put his own team in trouble again.
