@SawyerMerritt When it comes to Navigation, with current reasoning, I surmise FSD may prioritize safety above a faster route. I would expect that the model may make the judgement that a route with less risky scenarios (like an unprotected left) would be favorable vs a more direct quicker route.

FSD V14.3.2 now asks you why you disengaged, and presents you with these options to choose from:

Elon on FSD V14.3: It is the last piece of the puzzle for Unsupervised FSD. But we have a lot of major architectural improvements (coming), so I think it's not going to make sense for us to deploy large scale robtotaxi before deploying those improvements.

@MattWallaceTech Getting to the destination 2 minutes quicker is not the priority. Safety is the priority.

@MattWallaceTech Not conclusive, but I do believe FSD favors slightly longer routes with right hand turns vs slightly shorter routes with left hand turns when navigating for some ungodly reason.

Anybody else having issues with Teslas navigation? Instead of making this simple right turn to get to my destination it takes the long way around and takes way longer.

@MattWallaceTech Studies consistently show that unprotected left turns are among the highest-risk maneuvers in driving, far more dangerous than right turns or straight driving. From a safety perspective, a slightly longer route avoiding an unprotected left turn is preferable to a shorter route.

@MattWallaceTech And that ungodly reason is likely safety related. Statistics would probably show a route with unprotected left turns is more likely to have an accident than one with no unprotected lefts.

Last night @DavidMoss and I live streamed over 6 hours of our testing FSD 14.3 across Dallas. Starbucks drive-through, DFW Airport, parking garages, dark alleys, Deep Ellum, Globe Life Park, downtown hotels, construction zones, and a Robotaxi depot. What blew us away: •Smoothest most confident version ever •Pedestrian avoidance in pitch-black alleys. Super human and at least as good as Robotaxi •Descended a spiral ramp at DFW Airport Terminal A like it was nothing •Found a supercharger in a basement parking structure •Handled police directing traffic perfectly in some scenarios •14-point turn, a tricky roundabout, even a rabbit. All handled What still needs work: •Starbucks drive-through pulled up short, then took off before we got our food •Parking garages: infinite loop on the 6th floor at DFW, wrong way through a garage entrance •Police hand signals were hit or miss •Flashing red lights are a regression •Navigation still struggles with airport routing and missed turns •Left lane camping This is the most confident and smooth it has ever driven. FSD v14.3 brilliantly found its way into an underground supercharger but on the way out it exited out a one way do not enter sign 😔😬

@LamarMK There is no evidence anywhere online an FSD 14.2.4 release exists. A point release of 2026.2.9.5 was noted on April 3rd, but includes no indication of an FSD update. We are all still waiting for FSD 14.3. share.google/3WP5Vrs4TE0plf…
