breathtaking football. there’s disguise in the pass but the intention behind it is clear even for the viewer.

Guys, Danny Namaso is such a baller.
Dangerous on the counter, able to carry the ball over distance and beat opponents with his dribbling.
Right-footed, but capable of using his left when needed.
His versatility stands out, able to play LW, ST, and CAM.
From the left wing, when he cuts inside onto his stronger right foot, he becomes very dangerous.
He also attacks aerial duels.
Willing to go up for headers, disrupt defenders, and he’s actually underrated in the air, capable of winning those duels.
What I really like is his flexibility in attack.
Even as a striker, he can link play with quick one-touch passes and keep attacks flowing.
In 1v1 situations with the goalkeeper, he stays calm, often waiting and picking his moment before finishing.
A really underrated player who deserves much more recognition.

@JoeGmaBalls This is worth noting thank you!
He’s in the 35th percentile for fouls committed compared to T9 league midfielders, but in the 53rd for just the Portuguese league… a pretty significant difference.

📊🇩🇰 Victor Froholdt, data report
💬 definitely a box-to-box, I think he would be miscast as a holding midfielder
🔎 similar u21 data profile: Lesley Ugochukwu, Kobbie Mainoo, Lucas Bergvall
+ really high level dueler for a u21 midfielder; wins in the air and happy to engage, median duel win volume but great success rate
+ this, plus good shot block numbers generally indicate a player that's better at defending a man than covering space
+ strong runner in space, solid enough dribble numbers especially on a per touch basis
+ accuracy on forward passes is good, albeit on a really low rate of pass (more on this in a second)
+ xA p90 inflated by big chances created, but also having a reasonably significant number of BCC is really just a positive
- low interception numbers for his position is a bit weird, but the bigger concern is his high foul rate considering low sliding challenge and median duel volume
- in the bar chart is where you'll see this: he handles very few passes, and almost exclusively passes short or backwards; this is a bit down from where he was last season (I don't have DEN1 numbers in my DB yet but looking at other sources confirmed this), but this really puts him in a box for the type of role he could perform as his career progresses
➡️ Lots to like, such as his dueling and ball carrying (not shown in these graphs, but his accelerations p90 is good so I'm assuming his physical data is solid too), and this analysis is a bit incomplete until I take a full look at his DEN1 numbers, but the elements of backwards and short/med pass rates and handling almost no volume concerns me quite a bit.
Maybe I was on an island, but I thought of him as having no. 6 potential, and I don't think that's the case at all anymore. I think other people might see the same surface level things I did (size, ball security, and dueling) and think he can play deeper than he should. He could suffer from Ryan Gravenberch syndrome; people think it could work but limited passing abilities prevents it, and subsequently people forget his natural position should be further up the pitch (I'm wary the same thing might happen to Ayyoub Bouaddi too, for example).
For Froholdt, I think this works fine with the modern game, as many of the top teams press higher and progress from deeper, so the oop demons play as 8's and the maestros play as 6's.
