@orrdavid @taobanker former guy 💯 pro-tip 1: use the $100 pro subscription until you realize you need the $200 one. same features as the $200 one, other than usage allowances. pro-tip 2: exploit the codex chatgpt interface and its 5hr rolling window, unless you really need the api.

AI costs just $200/month for a premium version, and it's capable of wild things that will transform much of the world. One of my friends hasn't been working since 2022, since he made enough money to live off very frugally. Now, he's learning to use AI all day, and building a stupidly valuable skill set. Another friend has been working corporate jobs his entire adult life. He still has his regular career, but he knows the end is near. He is putting in a tiny fraction of the effort of the first guy to learn this new skill set. A lot of the effort people are willing to put in, is just anchoring to their old circumstances. Girl who does well in school doesn't want to put in real effort from here, I guess, because that was supposed to be the earned status needed for success. I say it's a good thing that this is no longer the case today. How about, she works super hard to actually be useful.

No, serious question though, what job are desperate people even supposed to get anymore? Serving tables and doordash lowkey seems like the only options.

This morning I spoke to a clever, articulate young woman of 23 who has a First Class Honours degree. She cannot find work. She will do anything. Even @McDonalds turned her down. And yet we hear all of the time that these big companies need migration to fill their vacancies....

@claudeai was a good nudge (wake-up!) to @sama and @OpenAI since then, they shipped: gpt 5.5, codex mobile, /goal and unshipped sora and self-serve fine-tuning i appreciate @AnthropicAI for pushing the leading edge, but oai's the bleeding edge (and @GoogleDeepMind may have great talent--maybe the greatest--but they can't ship)

To be clear this specifically enables "computer use" on your locked Mac. It also displays on your screen when Codex is controlling your Mac. It's a really cool feature and the team had to solve some interesting challenges to enable it!

Codex anywhere and everywhere, all the time. Now your Mac doesn’t have to be unlocked for Codex to use your computer. From your phone, Codex can securely use apps on your Mac, even when the screen is off and locked. #locked-use" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">developers.openai.com/codex/app/comp…

US President Trump said he had postponed signing an executive order ‌on AI because he did not like certain aspects of it and did not want to take any steps that might undermine the US position in its AI competition with China reut.rs/3RmFvAZ

Heads up: in the Codex app you might have to ask Codex to enable the feature. > Run `codex features enable goals` Then restart the app. We will have a fix rolling out soon to properly enable it by default.

🥅 /goal has graduated from an experiment—for tasks big and small, Codex gets your work done. Use goal mode in the Codex app, IDE Extension, or CLI to give Codex a specific milestone, and it will keep working until it gets there, even across hours or days. You can check in and steer, and even pause Codex along the way. Pro tip: start side chats to understand the work that has been done so far without having to interrupt the main task. #goal-mode" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">developers.openai.com/codex/promptin…

Invention driven by capitalism, free markets & freedom is the greatest intrinsic good the world has ever known. It has lifted billions out of the impoverished struggle for survival into lives of education, health & leisure. Philanthropy does not exist without it. @JeffBezos 🇺🇸

5/n What this result shows more broadly is that models are capable of more complex reasoning and working coherently towards a goal for longer periods of time than ever before.

4/n Instead, we are focused on generally improving capabilities. This model is good at a lot of things and is the one I now use as my daily driver, whether it is for debugging an experiment or writing a technical report.
