Let’s laugh at the crazy in NZ politics because it’s just depressing otherwise! 🤣

@KiwiBlakes @foundersam Agreed 💯
To me, it’s even worse that the media fuels the division. They openly call their reporting ‘stories’, instead of… news!
Politics needs to be more boring again, and only about debating ideas.
English

@JoeM_NZ @foundersam Sure mate. People are always giving good faith advice to the party they don't like on what they should do.
They are never just trying to stir shit in hopes that they will improve the chances of their team winning.
Bloody politics is sports these days and it's shit.

There is a narrative circulating online trying to push Labour leader Chris Hipkins into a state of being politically finished, it is driven by conservative micro-bloggers who froth at their mouths every chance they get to critique the opposition leader. When allegations involving Hipkins’ ex-wife first surfaced there was no move within Labour to remove him. But that moment is now being replayed consistently in our timelines and twisted in a way that portrays a form of public mistrust in the leader. Micro-bloggers, the biggest attention-seeking-idiots on here, have claimed confidence has collapsed and regurgitated that similarity across circles. But the reality is Hipkins has not stepped down and he remains in place standing firm. That alone shows strength and not any form of weakness coming from a bunch of whinging red-nosed clowns having a cry because no audience showed up to their clown show.
Hipkins is a fantastic leader who is shaped by local realities not online noise. If confidence was truly gone he would have stepped down.

@nzpoliticsgroup We agree on plenty, mate! Personally, I find the payWave surcharge no different from a supermarket charging 3x more per kg for ‘shredded chicken’ VS raw chicken breast.
If you don’t want the extra service, you don’t have to use it. Pay by inserting you card or with cash 🤷♂️easy

@NzFubar Oh no 🤦♂️

@aniobrien @K1w127 Pretty sure I heard David say the only people with Economics degrees in the current government are Brooke Van Velden and another ACT MP.
English

@bobmccoskrienz @ginnyandersen Honestly.. 😂
How do labour voters listen to any Labour MP and think hell yea I’m gonna vote for that!!!
English

Labour has a new spokesperson for education @ginnyandersen - who previously failed as police spokesperson.
But she wasted this afternoon in Parliament complaining about a link to a video on the National party website rather than the Education ministry website (the error was remedied within 15 minutes once notified) from an email sent by Minister of Education @EricaStanfordMP to school principals.
The email was about a new assessment tool for students in Years 3 to 10, which tracked their progress in reading, writing and maths - something Labour hadn't previously thought might be a good idea 🙄.
But as Ginny peppered Erica lame gotcha questions, it gave an opportunity for @winstonpeters to ask about the PIJF bribe to media, @dbseymour the opportunity to ask about getting Inspector Clouseau to investigate this 'major crime', and @NicolaWillisMP to ask whether parents were more interested in the assessment of their children OR who authorised an email😂
Quality stuff from the opposition!

@TheZeitgeistNZ It’s ridiculous. Any government payment is never free. It’s just our tax money coming back to us…..
Except not to those of us who don’t qualify for the relief, in which case we are now proportionally paying more tax in relation to our share of government services.
English

Asked if she has any regrets about her role in cancelling pay equity claims, van Velden said she is an optimistic person: “I don’t linger on bad emotions, I believe that leads to a miserable life."

@JonesVincentt Even THE GREEN put out an alternative budget 😅
It’s insane to me that anyone finds Labour an appealing party. No provable good track record, no policies, no new talented politicians…
English

We’ve long said we’ll not be releasing policies until after the budget. It’s not new - NZH you don’t have some massive article here.
nzherald.co.nz/nz/politics/la… Labour leader Chris Hipkins not offering policy ideas to help Kiwis amid fuel price rises
English

@GinaMos80192718 @actparty Well, she reaffirmed her orientation towards ACT! I’ve definitely been a fan of hers and will be sad to see her go.
English

@SanityRetention @actparty Then you can be glad.
She did extremely well to win over the majority of an electorate.
Opinions aside, she was an effective politician.
English

Make it free! It’s a win-win.

@ElizabethMouat I like this, despite that you and I have opposing political views.
I also spent time away from screens and politics that winds me up.
I hope you also had a good day. 🙂

@GavinNewsom It is so nice to Nick Shirley consistently get more likes in a reply than Gavin Newsom’s post gets!

@bighairynetwork … Labour was in charge of Covid. I don’t understand your comparison here.

#BHN Nicola Willis says the war and external pressures are not her fault....COVID though, we completely blame Labour for that #nzpol #nzpolitics
