@KyWhitney This is especially true as Paul has referred Fauci for criminal prosecution and this administration has pursued bogus indictments against perceived enemies. If Fauci were to testify and it differed from his past testimonies even in the slightest, he would certainly be indicted.

It's possible for an entirely guilty person to plead the Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination. It's also possible an entirely innocent person can assert the same right, which isn't conditioned on, doesn't assume, or require, guilt, and Hawley knows it.

@ruffriderx I live in Kentucky. Have all my life. Not a fan of McConnell. I hear Democrats saying that. I don’t hear McConnell voters saying that. I’m not sure you can say he hasn’t explained his absence sufficiently without polling.

To be honest, this is pretty silly. If my explanation was, “I’m in the hospital,” my boss would be cool with that. Most bosses would be.

No, they wouldn’t “be cool with” just that. Unless you had sufficient PTO or sick time to cover your absence, they’d request a note from the hospital and, if your employer has enough employees, FMLA paperwork. Don’t be naive.

@SMtweets36 What does it matter from a political standpoint. If Beshear calls a special election, you’re just going to see Andy Barr as the US Senator a few months early. A dem ain’t gonna win. The longer McConnell is in the hospital and alive, it benefits the Dems.
