@emmajolly It may be about right - one great-grandparent born there (not the Williams line, which is Wiltshire as far back as I can trace!). Also, border counties in more recent times

My AncestryDNA updates. Not sure what Iceland is doing there. My known Scottish ancestry appears to have been swallowed up by Ireland (comparing to my cousin matches on that branch). Northern Wales is a bit of mystery, too. Good to have the new "What changed?" section.🧬

The 2024 @ancestrydna Ancestral Regions update has rolled out leaving some UK subscribers scratching their head, confused about new regions in their results - Channel Islands and Germanic Europe for example. Many, including myself, seeing Channel Islands come up is a complete surprise and seems unusual. Some suggesting maybe even a glitch. ⁉️

We are deeply concerned about the dispersal by @HachetteUK of publishing business archives and will write to the publishing sector about the importance of business archives and keeping collections together for future use amp.theguardian.com/books/article/…

@NFGmart Agree- I’m in touch with a relative whose great-grandparents were born 1802/3 (my 4x greats). This never fails to amaze me!

Having great grandparents born in the 1820s is very odd #WDYTYA

The City Corporation-owned @LdnMetArchives will drop ‘Metropolitan’ from its name and become The London Archives from 5 August to attract new visitors and clarify the nature of its collections. LMA is the second largest archive service in the UK. tinyurl.com/2yhsb8f7

@KJvFStaudt It’s one of my lines I’ve yet to pursue very far back. She was from the Camberwell/Peckham area of London, her father born Harwich in Essex.
