On this last day of 2024, I stand between what has been and what could be. I look toward 2025 with hope. Hope, but with the lucidity life has imposed on me. Hope, but not false hope. (3)

As life has been unfolding, I’ve learned to stop judging the years as they pass. Life has shown me, often brutally, that it’s pointless. Nothing can predict whether the future will be gentler or harsher. (1)
