🚨 BREAKING: “Death to America” Comes to @virginia_tech At Virginia Tech tonight, Mohamed Abdou opened his “Death to the Akademy” speech by declaring, “We are in a war, a racial religious war since 1492.” He told students America is “the larger monster,” praised “General Sinwar,” called October 7 the “blessed day of Al-Aqsa Flood,” and said jihad can mean defending life “using the sword.” Then he praised students as “a branch of the resistance” and said they were recognized as “a branch of the mujahideen.” And when he explained “Death to America,” he was explicit. “When we say Death to America, we mean, and loud and clear, a total end to U.S. empire. The destruction of this crusading settler colony, their entire project.” Virginia Tech spent the last few days insisting this event was not happening. It happened. And this is what was said. This the atheist version of “Christian’s can’t make entertainment”. Most faithy entertainment sucks because the entire secular and faith-based audience have become story/beauty illiterate. For the record, we were never that literate, which is why Citizen Kane, It’s A Wonderful Life and Fantasia were box office flops. If Streep thinks Marvel makes sewage, she should try to sit through Angel Studios’ movies that are the Applebees of culture. While being mid they’re still better than most. That doesn’t make them Good, only better by comparison. When Chesterton said “anything with doing is worth doing badly” he was taking about modern movie making. Even Streep has to know that Devil Wears Prada isn’t exactly The Elephant Man. As a film snob I’d like to announce to everyone that everything is indeed awful. There isn’t a mass entertainment medium from music to food, video games to theater that hasn’t been touched by the post industrial suckification. As the creator of many of these stories I’m at least part of the problem. But art is a mirror and the reason why it’s shallow, trivial consumer theocracy crap is because the largest audience hates that trough the least. I paid to watch more Marvel movies in a theater than I have of Meryl Streep movies. That’s probably a confession of some kind.

The Daily Wire peaked five years ago. For like two years, I listened to Matt Walsh every day. Ben Shapiro 3-4 times a week. Andrew Klavan on the weekends. Michael knowles when the others were on vacation. I used to set aside time to watch the backstage events. They promised harder hitting journalism and investigations… not just breaking down NYPost stories ‘journalism.’ Instead they started making movies, cartoons, selling cigars, razors, and chocolate. Once they switched from news and mainstreaming conservative views to “Hey, buy stuff from us,” I knew it was over. I stopped listening, but kept my subscription alive out of loyalty or whatever— kinda always hoping they’d course correct. Their producers hating on Mormons is just the icing on the cake for me. The Daily Wire played an integral role in a weird time for me as I developed my political views. So I’m honestly sad this is where they are now, but it’s not surprising.

This is my issue with conservatives explained in a single video: They are COMPLETELY unable to practice any kind of empathy (neither cognitive nor emotional) with any out-group. Until they have first-hand experience with an issue, they cannot fathom that it even exists

@akafaceUS Even in the 90s, a McDonalds worker could not afforded a home. That is the lowest of low level entry level jobs. Homes do need to be more affordable. That comes from deregulating the construction and development industry and relaxing rules around urban sprawl

The only argument I have is the wealth gap needs to be shrinking. I don’t think people should be punished for success but that statistic has to improve somehow before things can become affordable again. A McDonalds employee should be able to afford a home.

Let me get this straight. The tech oligarchs are desperately racing towards artificial general intelligence, in which AI is better than humans at almost everything. They gleefully want to end human labor. At the same time, they are not willing to have their wealth taxed to compensate the workers who will lose out. Even a little bit. This is what we’re seeing play out right now. No, they are actively rooting for dystopia. We cannot allow this technology to stay in their hands.

That means half of women hold a neutral or negative view. 21% of women have an actively negative view of men. Only 7% of men say the same about women. That’s a 3x difference. If women view men more negatively than the reverse... who’s really driving the gender divide?
