Congratulations Adam Miller for being chosen the 2025 Sampson’s Legacy Foundation’s Paw Prints for Humanity Award recipient! He inspires me everyday - and a man I have the honor of calling a friend! It is such a privilege to do my job every day!

🎉 Announcing the 2025 Paw Prints for Humanity Award Recipient! 🐾 We are honored to announce that the 2025 Paw Prints for Humanity Award has been awarded to Adam Miller, Vice President and Assistant General Manager of Caesars Palace! 🌟 The Paw Prints for Humanity Award was established to recognize individuals who go above and beyond — those who consistently choose to do the next right thing in making the world more inclusive and accessible for all, with the disability community at the center of every decision. Adam not only embodies this mission — he exceeds it. Over two years ago, after encountering an access concern, Adam reached out with a sincere commitment to improve accessibility standards and opened a meaningful dialogue about possibilities. From our first conversation, to our most recent one just days ago, Adam has listened intently, asked thoughtful questions, researched solutions, and creatively problem-solved how to make a historic property — over 60 years old — truly accessible, with the disability community at the forefront of every decision. ✨ Highlights of the inclusive and lasting changes Adam has championed include: • Elegant marble ramps into the High Stakes Lounge • Marble ramp access into the newly opened Caspian’s Restaurant • Easily navigable aisleways and accessible floor plan in the Caspian’s Speakeasy Lounge • Lowered bar area in Brasserie B’s at wheelchair height — allowing forward approach so guests can dine, socialize, and watch mixologists at work • Low-pile carpet in the casino for improved wheelchair mobility • Inclusive menu options and trained restaurant staff who ensure safe, stress-free dining for guests with allergies and specialty dietary needs • Courteous, knowledgeable gaming staff who support guests with disabilities in enjoying the full range of gaming experiences • Thoughtful design elements — like sweeping marble walls in high-traffic areas — that enhance flow while considering guests who are low-vision, blind, or neurodivergent • The addition of an ADA Compliance Consultant on every new build and renovation, ensuring accessibility standards — and beyond — are met with excellence • And so much more already in the planning stages for the future! What truly sets Adam apart is that when he encountered an accessibility issue — he didn’t ignore it, hide it, or hope it would go away. He reached out with genuine intent to improve. He continues to surprise and inspire us with new ideas for inclusion, always considering people with disabilities and the diverse needs of all guests. 👏 Please join us in congratulating Adam Miller! We are deeply grateful for his leadership and look forward to sharing more of the inclusive innovations coming to Caesars Palace in the future. #PawPrintsForHumanity #InclusionForAll #AccessibilityChampions #SampsonsLegacyFoundation @CaesarsPalace @CaesarsEnt

Mom is not only an expert in the field of Service Dogs in Science, she also is an expert and consultant in neurodivergent accommodations, and architectural design. She acts as a liaison and advocate for people will all disabilities who are facing barriers, bias, or discrimination. That picture looks different every day and she has to be flexible, knowledgeable, and able to be direct, and even persistent in striking at the heart of the matter at times. Mom says, “Don’t make me go all ‘Erin Brockovich’ on them!”

Just in: The Sultan of Slowjamastan and Chief Border Patrol Agent had a riveting meeting with the Marshall of Tombstone, AZ. They debated the most fitting punishments for Croc-wearers. "Maybe walking barefoot on Legos," suggested the Sultan. "How about public shaming in the stocks?" chimed the Marshall. Stay tuned for their final verdict on this pressing issue! 🤠

"We have a presenter/attendee to the conference with a service dog - they'll adapt; we don't have to change anything." .....yes, yes, you do as a reasonable accommodation. Reframe: "We have a presenter/attendee at the conference with a service dog; please ensure they have what they need to make their experience successful and inclusive." Providing space for a Service Dog Handler: It is often overlooked that a Service Dog Handler will need the same circulation space (aisles, tables, etc.) required of wheelchair users (no less than 36 inches, but 72 inches is recommended). For attendees with service dogs, ensure that any hotel or conference map (or conference welcome handouts) includes locations of easily accessed grassy areas for service dog relief. Ensure sufficient space at a table or in audience seating for the service dog to rest. Under a table if table seating for meals, or beside the handler. Plan for two seating spaces for a service dog and handler. Even at a conference table, if food is served, the service dog will generally go under the table, but ensure there is sufficient room under tables without cords, excess table legs, etc. The seat next to the handler allows room for the service dog to enter and exit comfortably and is not kicked by the person beside them. In other words, make sure there is plenty of room. Include Service Dog Fact Sheets in orientation materials. Ensure event staff and volunteers know proper service dog etiquette and how to interact with an SD team appropriately. Presenters with Service Dogs: We have this written in our presentation contracts! Ensure the riser or stage has an accessible on/off ramp and sufficient room for the service dog to move and rest without getting close to an edge or falling off. Make sure there is an accessible restroom near the location of the presentation. Service dog handlers use accessible stalls often. Identify a relief area for the service dog close to the location of the presentation. When the handler arrives (if speaker or presenter) have a staff member or volunteer escort the handler to the relief area if needed, so they know how to find it. I do not know how often I have been verbally instructed where the relief area was, only to find that the instructions were vague, incorrect, or we were left outside a locked door. Breaks should allow sufficient time for the handler to use the restroom AND take their dog out for relief. Provide bottled water and ask the handler if they want a bowl for their service dog. Usually, a handler brings their own, but it is nice if they do not have one.

Yesterday, we deposited $6,000 into the Marshal's K9 fund, courtesy of the Dog Days of Tombstone! Another $6,000 went to award scholarships to disabled students and $5,000 as seed money for next year's event. Thank you all for your tremendous support! #tombstone #K9 #Charity

I had the exceptional privilege to meet with Border intelligence and cartel expert @jaeson_jones for an interview on the Human Trafficking crisis and its impact on Tombstone. Jaeson also moderated a candid conversation with Sheriffs Mark Dannels and Mark Lamb. Watch for it.

This past week was busy yet productive! WOOFTIE! @RepCiscomani Legislative Assitant and Mom hit the ground running early in the week on the CDC service dog barrier issue in their BMBL guidelines. Our meeting with @CaesarsPalace was VERY productive, and we look forward to meeting again soon. Mom met with @adiintl Advocacy and Legislative Committee about the Traveling by Air With Service Animals-U.S. Department of Transportation forms amendment proposal. Our meeting with @SenMarkKelly's office on making field sights accessible to people with disabilities in environmental sciences was postponed for 2 weeks. Our planning for the Dog Days of Tombstone in May is underway! Today, some extra snacs, snuggles, and snoozles are in order!

Happy FriYAY! Today is a reminder that sometimes we encounter something new, something scary because we don’t understand it. Being scared is ok. But don’t let fear control you. Take steps - even tiny ones if need be to conquer it, understand it, then overcome it. Great things may be on the other side!
