Grateful to have hosted @SecVetAffairs alongside local veterans and key stakeholders for a productive conversation on how we continue delivering for those who served our nation. With more than 80,000 veterans in AZ-06, we’re building on our momentum to strengthen transition support and expand access to the mental health care they’ve earned. 🇺🇸🎖️

Great visit to the @TucsonVA NW Clinic with @SecVetAffairs and @RepEliCrane to see firsthand the critical work being done to serve more than 170,000 veterans across 8 counties in AZ. 🇺🇸 Grateful for the dedicated staff who continue delivering high-quality care to the American heroes in our community every single day!

Our American heroes in AZ06 and beyond answered the call to serve our great nation 🇺🇸 @SecVetAffairs is moving at record speed, cutting through the backlog and delivering the benefits our veterans have faithfully EARNED.

Treating those who struggle with drug addiction is not simply about treating the body but also mending the soul. I was proud to commemorate the opening of a new Men's Center for Teen Challenge, a faith-based organization which serves the most vulnerable in Tucson, Arizona.

I am grateful to @SecretaryTurner for spending the time to hear firsthand from stakeholders across AZ06 and to discuss HUD’s work to expand access to housing and support our communities. Participants spoke about the importance of cutting red tape at every level of government and the need to streamline the approval process so projects move forward faster. Thank you, Mr. Secretary, for visiting and elevating the priorities of our district!

Great to join Marana Unified School District for its 100th Anniversary Celebration Dinner! The district has grown tremendously, now serving 13,000 students from pre-K through 12th grade helping shape the next generation in AZ-06. Here’s to many more successful years ahead! 🎉🎊

Agriculture is central to Arizona’s identity, with three of our Five C’s being cattle, citrus, and cotton. I was proud to support the Farm Bill and see it pass the house floor. I have visited dozens of farmers across AZ-06 who have made clear how urgently this legislation is needed. Food security is national security. It strengthens support for our farmers facing drought and helps keep costs down. I am proud the House worked together in a bipartisan fashion to get this done, and I call on the Senate to take up this critical legislation without delay.

Great meeting with Valley TeleCom out of Willcox, which provides broadband services to rural AZ. We discussed ways to build on efforts to streamline permitting processes. Just last week, I voted for 3 rural broadband bills to help ensure our neighbors have access to this essential service. 🛜

APPROVED BY @HouseAppropsGOP: On a bipartisan basis, we secured real wins for America’s most deserving heroes. 🇺🇸 From increased funding for veterans’ mental health services to key quality-of-life improvements — this is real progress. And we’re just getting started!

Wishing a very happy 100th birthday to Rabbi and Cantor Baruch Cohon! A Navy veteran, former TV producer, and a pillar of the Jewish community in AZ06 keeping traditions alive, Rabbi Cohon has lived an extraordinary life of service and faith. Proud to honor his legacy! 🎉🎈

Ben Sasse has lived a God-centered life rooted in service to our country. His personal courage in facing an aggressive, terminal cancer diagnosis while remaining grounded in faith is truly inspiring, and I am truly speechless. God always has a plan 🙏

As an advocate for the disabled community we want to personally thank @RepCiscomani for doing what too many don’t—listening, following through, and standing firm when it mattered most. We reached out with a problem that was costing disabled scientists—including many veterans—the opportunities they earned and deserved. He listened. He made a promise. And then we worked together—consistently, persistently— to make this happen. This was not easy. It was an uphill fight against some of the most powerful institutions in science, the @CDCgov and @NIH where outdated interpretations were driving exclusion. For two years, he and his staff stayed committed. He pushed for clarity where there was ambiguity. He honored his word when it would have been easier not to. Because of that persistence, we now have a path forward—one grounded in risk assessment, not exclusion for our veterans and disabled community who are seeking science or STEM academics or careers. This is what real leadership looks like.

It has truly been a pleasure working with you and of course Sampson, over the past 2 years. I appreciate the much-needed attention you both brought to this issue impacting so many in our local community and across the country. Thank you for being in the fight with me. Proud that we were able to get it done together! 💪

The consequences of the @DHSgov shutdown are real and felt nationwide, including in AZ. It should not take a tragedy like the WHCD to wake up Senate Democrats like @SenMarkKelly and @SenRubenGallego, who voted 15 times in the past 7 months to withhold pay from Secret Service agents, and law enforcement need to wake up! washingtontimes.com/news/2026/apr/…
