@faisalislam This seems a bit wrong way round? Increasing rates dampens demand-side inflation. This is supply-side inflation (like Brexit), increasing rates removes the ability to offset the shock and cuts growth, not inflation.

One thing I would say. The difference between how Labour prosecuted their case against Boris over Partygate, and the Tories are targeting Starmer is significant. Labour were focussed, persistent and very skilful at precisely detailing the ways he mislead the House. The Tories are still all over the place. It's clear Shadow Ministers aren't sure themselves what the case is. They don't have a consistent line. It's all "everyone can see his mislead parliament". Rather than "on this date, at this time, he said x. When the truth was y".

What Tice misses here, is there isn't "minimum/maximum tax we could pay" - there is only 1 tax rate, the one you pay. Most people aren't making moral judgements on how much tax they pay - they just pay the tax owed.

British Museum visitors at a 10 year high of 6.5 million… Visitors generally fully recovered from pandemic, interestingly driven by domestic tourists and North Americans… seemed pretty clear that summer 2025 for example, London was world capital of live music. Comes day after the Mayor of London wrote to Anthropic to come to London after their troubles with the Trump Administration and a marked change in the vibe around the investment in AI and tech… While there’s obvious some challenges in any modern day mega city, and in Britain right now, strikes me that the stats show taking your cues from the mildly bizarre cultivated campaign against Britain and our capital on this site is likely to lead to erroneous perceptions. @Ankaman616 Issue isn't even VAR, its application. He was off balance from the on rushing GK, it wasn't simulation, he didn't even call for Pen. VAR could have sent Banks to screen to review pen shout... and could have declined pen, and also revised Yellow decision.

Ramsey has just picked up a second yellow and been sent off for diving. Blimey.

@mcfclou @allmancity22 A. Nah first was a yellow... i think it was more for his dissent. B. Given he was on a yellow ( a caution) he should have acted more cautiously C. This really should have been a straight red - 2 feet off the ground, endangering opponent, no attempt to play the ball.
