I had the enormous honor to deliver the commencement address yesterday at the University of Denver School of Law. I want to thank all of the students, graduates, faculty, and staff from the bottom of my heart. Although I was forced to wear a funny hat, I tried to share a message from my 20 years of civil rights work: "The most effective strategy at all times and in all places—in court, in politics, and in life—is centering your heart with the most vulnerable people and animals and ecosystems, joining together with others, and then relentlessly telling the truth about what you see."

The American people need to wake up and understand that while China is investing in bettering life for its people with housing, education, healthcare, and infrastructure, our own government is investing in making life worse for people both at home and abroad.
