@rationalyankee I thought they might implement ABS for the semi's & championship game - just 4 teams to measure & all the ABS technology is already installed in Marlins stadium. ABS will definitely be in place for the next WBC.

We don’t have ABS for the WBC because every player’s zone needs to be individually measured and that’s a logistical nightmare when some of the players are electricians from Czechia. But during the MLB season, the zone on the TV screen will be the exact ABS strike zone. No discrepancies between the actual zone and the TV zone like there have been in the past. So I think now that we know going forward that the zone is correct, leaving it on TV makes sense.

I realize David Vanterpool might be shooting for the moon, so here’s a more realistic idea. Dave Moore. He would be a great fit on and off the court. Same principles as Schmidt. He was directly responsible for a lot of the player improvement in his time here as an assistant.

For 19 years I was blessed to have a front row seat watching Mark Schmidt turn the SBU basketball program from a laughing stock to an annual contender. Coach poured everything he had into the university. You’ve heard me say it over and over, he’s the best coach in the country.
