@WarMonitor3 My father flew 8 missions over Japan.
Flew an SB2c-4 helldiver. Was on his way in for another drop when instructed to drop bomb in the sea and return to the Bennington (cc’d-20). Japan had surrendered !

Goooooooood Morning. How much rain did you receive? The thunderstorms last night were huge with some wind damage, lots of lightning, and now flooding. Local law enforcement reported flash flooding with multiple roads closed in Parkville and Riverside. Several water rescues are ongoing in Kansas City. Flash flooding will begin subsiding in the next couple hours. Make sure the kids don't go explore near high water areas. The risk of severe weather is OVER for our region as it is shifting into Illinois and Indiana today. Here are some estimated rainfall totals with the actual total at KCI Airport in the past 5 days.

@lucyshow11 At that time I worked at the 76th and Dodge
Omaha location for 1.65/hour. They worked me very hard !!

@lucyshow11 In early 80’s I’d buy Fallstaff in returnable bottles in yellow crates that held 24 returnable bottles . $3.99 a case !!

"After swearing I wasn't going to gamble in Vegas, I ended up playing slots at the Barbary Coast while the boy played craps. I put $20 in the machine and played for almost an hour off of that amount, in the process getting two free drinks...Also, my craps playing boyfriend liked the $5 minimum tables and even ended up walking away ahead. The dealers at his table were very friendly too. It reminded me of the scene in Swingers were [sic] the dealer is teaching the old folks how to play.
Barbary Coast isn't fancy, but it's got a charm that some of the newer casinos don't have. The decor grows on you and I thought it was great that instead of the fancy food choices some of the other casinos offer, they had a hot dog stand."

@FXRegan @LVpolitic Trader Joe’s sells a great crust that you bake
At home. $1.69
English

@LVpolitic Nope. They are still full of preservatives, chemicals, and cheap ingredients. I get fresh dough from the bakery section, sauce and fresh veggies, and cook it on the gas grill. Way better than any frozen pizza for about the same cost.

@Matt_Pinner .29 9/10’s San Fernando valley Ca. Summer 1968. And they have blue chip stamps with every purchase !
English

@jearl02s @edgaralandough I started with an electric one, returned it for a gas powered on which I also turned. Might buy #3 later this spring.
English

@JohnEdMeyer @edgaralandough Did u buy another one from Costco? I’ve sold over 1500 returned pressure washers i 19 months
English

@JacobsVegasLife The Nevada national security sites formerly known as the Nevada Test Site.
English

@jearl02s @edgaralandough My power washer wand broke after three years. They cheerfully refunded the entire purchase price when I returned it.
English

@edgaralandough You forgot the Costco Rental Program…
Purchase and Item, use it for the season and return it and get your $$ back. Works really well for seasonal products but can also work on a variety of other products.

@CinemaTweets1 I completely agree that The Pitt is one of the best shows on TV maybe THE BEST !!

Let me give you the complete list of Trump’s unforced economic errors.
Pull back on the tariffs.
Push forward on the tariffs again.
Uncertainty for every business in America
Nobody can invest. Nobody knows what the rules are tomorrow.
Go to war. Knock energy prices through the roof.
Go after people in the streets with violent demonstrations of force.
And here’s what we know about that last one that nobody in this administration wants to acknowledge: Fear dims economic innovation.
I don’t know the exact number of people living in this country without documentation.
But I know this: they are working. They are paying sales taxes. Many are paying other forms of taxes and they are contributing to GDP.
If you terrorize that population — if you make them afraid to leave the house, afraid to spend money, afraid to participate in the economy — you don’t just hurt them.
You hurt everyone.
He has caused slower growth.
He has created greater uncertainty than this economy has seen in decades.
He has crushed the tourism market.
People around the world are choosing not to come here.
That is real money walking away.
Everything that could be done wrong has been done wrong.
And we’re just getting started on paying the price for it.

@RachelBitecofer To clarify, Russia declared war on Japan on 8/8/45, and the Japanese Emperor said “enough” shortly thereafter.
English

@RachelBitecofer The Japanese said that our two bombs had the same effect as the firebombing of Tokyo and other cities. The Japanese capitulated when the RUSSIANS attacked them. They wanted no part of the Russians on their soil.
English

Yes.
And it may not be a popular take but after 5 years of immersing myself in WWII, I can tell you the Japanese would have made us invade them without the bombs. We were looking at something like a million more casualties to invade them bc their citizens had been made to believe Americans would rape and slaughter them all. Many Japanese committed suicide as our forces approached.

In Japan, it took 2 nuclear bombs devastating civilian populations.

@HuskerTapes We were pheasant hunting that day and listened to the game. My good friend went to the game, it was his first Missouri game,
