@AnthonyTeasdale “Which leads us to Andrew Weatherall's "Bunker" record shop in Shoreditch” - I painted that shop. Amanda paid me £50 and gave me some records. Most of the paint went over my Stussy shorts, which cost me £70 to replace.

Which leads us to Andrew Weatherall's "Bunker" record shop in Shoreditch. As I go through the pile of tasteful deep house – hi! – he points me in the direction of the DFA remix of  Le Tigre's "Deceptacon". This shouldn't be my thing. It's a bit shouty. With too many guitars.

Time for a thread about LCD Soundsystem/DFA. It's 2002. Mainstream dance music is in its "rock dinosaur" moment. Bloated. Formulaic. And naff. The kids – them again – are bored. And then a 12" record from a group called LCD Soundsystem arrives in Seven magazine office…

@AndyMitten As a Liverpool fan I will probably give your book a swerve (especially one focusing on the 1990s), but this made me smile. 👍

I wrote books about Manchester United in the 70s, 80s & 90s. Thought it was about time I got stuck into the noughties one. I've been meeting the players and speaking to them about a remarkable time at MUFC. You can pre-order here. linktr.ee/BringOnUnited

Finished the book! 110,000 words. Hundreds of hours work. My word; what players, what teams, what stories. The last piece was the foreword. Beautifully written by Ruud van Nistelrooy this week. He said it was about time he made an assist for the lads he played with.

@Happy_Mondays @KCMANC NEC, supporting New Order in March, 1989. First headline gig I saw them was at Hummingbird in Birmingham later that same year. Riotously chaotic and utterly brilliant.

Soma Records (@SomaRecords) is one of the great labels of house and techno. And while the big tracks are well known – “Right On, Right On” anyone? – what about the more obscure tunes? Here are my top seven ‘secret’ Soma tracks you need to know.

I love Ian Wright, love his clobber in the main. (Lots of Universal Works and similar). But that shirt is going to give license to a lot of lads to take fashion risks that - unlike him - they can’t pull off.
