Which leads us to Andrew Weatherall's "Bunker" record shop in Shoreditch. As I go through the pile of tasteful deep house – hi! – he points me in the direction of the DFA remix of  Le Tigre's "Deceptacon". This shouldn't be my thing. It's a bit shouty. With too many guitars.

Time for a thread about LCD Soundsystem/DFA. It's 2002. Mainstream dance music is in its "rock dinosaur" moment. Bloated. Formulaic. And naff. The kids – them again – are bored. And then a 12" record from a group called LCD Soundsystem arrives in Seven magazine office…

Finished the book! 110,000 words. Hundreds of hours work. My word; what players, what teams, what stories. The last piece was the foreword. Beautifully written by Ruud van Nistelrooy this week. He said it was about time he made an assist for the lads he played with.

I love Ian Wright, love his clobber in the main. (Lots of Universal Works and similar). But that shirt is going to give license to a lot of lads to take fashion risks that - unlike him - they can’t pull off.
