@vdlorenzo_CNB Good point. So where’s the sweet spot for growth? This surely depends on what is being ‘optimised’ and the timescales? Increase in biomass, productivity, genomic stability, niche survival and persistence?

I often see posters/papers dealing with *stress* markers in bacteria … Has anyone ever looked for *happiness* markers?Which could they be 🤔?
