I already thought Elon’s mom constantly defending him on twitter was embarrassing. I didn’t even consider that Elon was the one tweeting as his own mom and defending himself, which is maybe the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever seen

@ejmb0000000 @mike_petriello Totally disagree with this despite any babip stuff: he’s never been able to hit in his career & it’s getting worse. Matt Cain defied babip metrics in his prime I think the same way Bailey is now but in the reverse. Look at his career line, esp in the minors. He has never hit.

It's incredible to think about given his absolute best-in-class defense, but I'm starting to think Patrick Bailey gets a trip back to the minors in his near future.

In 10 years, we'll realize young adults can't read, write, or think as well as they should. We'll wonder how we allowed students to offload huge chunks of their learning to AI. Today we're just watching it happen. This is the most obvious unforced error of our time.

A) under three different coaching staffs has not added a 3rd pitch
B) has lost the ability to throw strikes/challenge with the FB
C) has lost control of the slider (he initially was very Romo-esque with his command of it)

Since 2025, Ryan Walker has an 8.69 ERA in high-leverage spots, which is the 7th-highest mark among relievers (Min. 10 IP). Terrible process decision.

@BaseballJeff1 This is why I hated how post-Kapler the focus has been installing lineup locks who play “every day.” We have WAY too much information these days not to platoon at least four positions daily. I’m ready to try a different option vs lhp than Jerar though.

@BaseballJeff1 To me the irony is Vitello is doing what established managers like Melvin obsess with — leaning into “guys who have done it before” despite what their own eyes and/or data tells you. Hopefully he’ll get off of trying to make Walker as a dominant closer happen soon!

Yes, let’s not blame the person who put a reliever in a spot where he has struggled again and again and again. It was a poor in-game decision to use a pitcher who might be the 5th-best reliever in the bullpen.

They ought to call other teams about role players. Like, if there is a 2nd-divison platoon bat they can swing in a trade, that would be a notable improvement over their current options.

Same deal with Willy Adames. You just kind of have to ride this out. If they had someone they could use off the bench, then maybe you would use them in 1 of those at-bats in the 8th inning, but that is also not the case.

@jamesheintz @BaseballJeff1 Bivens has a clear role (potentially) as literally a mop up/ long man. There’s an argument to be made if he was on the roster they would’ve been able to pull Houser earlier in his awful outings. I don’t care how Bivens is doing in Sac; Borucki is horrid. Bivens has a niche.
