@pierre_koutani I don't know everything, but a similar idea, is that prey animals put on big displays, and predators put on deep camouflage. One is trying to conceal vulnerability, one is trying to conceal capability, the action oriented, act in a way that compliments that action

@SMB_Attorney Don't judge me but I always thought it would be a great business to trade elite lawyers like free agent athletes. Challenge is that the current lateral market is based on nothing more than conversations and impressions rather than evaluation and data.

Most people don’t realize that the legal profession is the land of “haves and have nots” based almost entirely off educational pedigree. Most lawyers starting salaries range between $45k and $90k. Another select group (the spike on the far right of the chart), starts at $215k on what’s called the “Cravath Scale” (the elite big law pay scale typically set by Cravath). To be a part of the coveted Cravath Scale group, you almost *have to* go to a top-14 law school. Why 14 schools? Historical pedigree stuff (see the Wikipedia excerpt). Who knows? In the absence of a top-14 pedigree, to get a good ROI from your legal education, you need to go to a respected regional school (where you want to practice) on a *big* scholarship. I don’t care what anyone says (especially those citing silly anecdotes about one-off success stories), if you don’t do either of these things, you’ll probably pay dearly. Most law students don’t realize any of this until it’s too late!

@realEstateTrent 11 years old went door to door, at apartment complexes offering to take the trash out for $5 a week. Even had misspelled contracts for them to sign. I had 30 customers in a week and had to enlist my friends for help servicing them.

Many entrepreneurs started a business at a very young age. For me it was 7th grade, where I learned how to make hand-made wooden pens in wood shop class. Sold them to local gift shops for $20. What about you?
