Off to @GreenManFest, where I'm doing a wee bit with @maxcoopermax. Great memories. I played at the first GreenMan. It was a 300 capacity one day hurrah, held at Craig-Y-Nos castle. There was one over-ran food tent, three stages, two of them battling to be smaller than the other.

Thirty years since Robin Cook (Derek Raymond) died. Strange to say, given the extraordinary bleakness of much of his work, but its the sheer joy of the man that I miss most. No one could light up a room like Robin. 1/3

- he somehow did so with extraordinary grace. Never more so than when he was dying. Thirty years ago today I held his hand as he left this world. Now I’m the age he was then, and I would not be who I am without having known him. There won't be another. 3/3

No pub was so grim, no literary event so dismal, that Robin could not turn it into the one place on earth you absolutely most wanted to be. And likewise, while he lived his life in rackety chaos for much of the time – and certainly and sadly left much damage in his wake 2/3
