This year marks 20 years since my suicide attempt. As I travel the globe sharing my story, I am reminded of how far I have come. Sharing our pain allows others to feel safe to share theirs. I am so proud of the community we have created here #beheretomorrow

This is a moment where as part of our political discourse, we are finally talking about #poverty. We must commit to move people out of poverty permanently. People don’t live in poverty only on election years.

A barbershop in Arkansas is helping its community open up about mental health. Picture Perfect has become a place where anyone can come in and talk about what they are dealing with, and the barbers are certified to help. ow.ly/azwI50yulkE

ASKING someone "Are you suicidal" & "Do you have a plan?" does not make someone suicidal. If the answer is YES, sit with them, listen & then direct them to supports.
Asking the direct question creates safe space for someone to acknowledge their pain @800273TALK @CrisisTextLine

You matter. You have value. Your pain is valid and if no one has told you today, I love you ❤️#beheretomorrow

.@WHO Close to 800 000 people die due to suicide every year. One life lost to suicide is one too many. I will continue to share messages of HOPE because although it may not be an action plan, it is a start. #beheretomorrow

Mental illness is not a personal failure. In fact, if there is failure, it is to be found in the way we have responded to people with mental and brain disorders. We need to show care & empathy to our fellow humans #beheretomorrow

Disparities in health care delivery are due to a combination of complex systemic issues, including race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and geography. Change will only occur when we decide that everyone deserves to be as healthy as possible regardless of race or zip code. #SDOH
