Real talk: getting married for a second time at age 40 with 3 kids can come with a lot of inner narratives Things like… “It’s silly to make a big deal about it” “You’ve already done this once, no one cares” “You’re too old for all this stuff” In fact, I wasn’t even going to do engagement photos. But then, on our annual weekend trip upstate, my amazing lifer friend said “put on this dress, we are going to take photos” Literally. She gave me her dress and took us outside and gave us the full treatment (They are international / celebrity wedding photographers and there was no way I’d ask them to spend their relaxing weekend doing work) But she insisted. And I’m so glad she did. Finding love after 6 years of being a single parent and doing so much work to be ready to receive the love that this man shows me is worthy of celebrating. And even though I still cringe when I say it….I’m a bride. I’m getting married in one year. Life and love is worthy of celebrating. And now I’ve booked a fun weekend in NYC to go dress shopping (I was originally just going to buy something online to not make a big fuss about it) Thank you to my amazing friends for reminding me of how far I’ve come and always showing up to celebrate the highs and navigate the lows. Don’t forget to celebrate. You deserve it.

He even got to go on an outing with his friend Mario. Look how smart he is. The next step for Rolo is some more recovery and then a forever home. He won’t be going back on the streets ever again (7/7)

This Rolo today. He’s allowed back on longer walks and he is healing beautifully. Its been a very long 6 weeks for him but his life has been saved (6/7)

This was Alba’s song. I used to play it to her and sing it when out looking at the sunrises and sunsets.
