@Battlefield I thought we were back. I didn't see a woman the entire video, and then they snuck one in with 10 seconds remaining. Well, at least we didn't hear her screaming at us.

@JonMarbs @JoeLongBalls The blacks and gamers wont be happy with another delay. They also probably wont spend much on it between January and September so a holiday release is likely an agreement that cant be broken due to its potential for high fiscal return.

> be Disney executive > pay $4B for Lucasfilm in 2012 > greenlight a new trilogy to print money > Force Awakens hits $2B. you are a god > Last Jedi splits the fanbase > Rise of Skywalker barely clears a billion > teens now call Star Wars "out of order" > Mandalorian and Grogu tracks franchise-low > can't admit trilogy failed. shareholders watching > tell Filoni the sequels need to be "branched off" > cast members at parks start citing a time portal > May the 4th merch quietly drops the sequels > rumor leaks: Ahsoka finale severs the timeline $4B of canon about to get filed under "alternate universe" because nobody can say the word "mistake"

This aerial photo shows a rare view of the three Des Moines-class heavy cruisers, USS Newport News (CA-148), USS Salem (CA-139), and USS Des Moines (CA-134), docked at the Naval Inactive Ship Maintenance Facility in Philadelphia in the 1980s. These three ships were the last of the United States Navy's heavy cruisers and symbolized the end of the era of large gunboats. The Des Moines-class ships were known for their advanced main armament, including 8-inch autocannons capable of firing high-velocity shells. This technology made them among the most powerful cruisers of their time, particularly in supporting naval combat and land-based bombardment operations. USS Des Moines (CA-134), as the lead ship of her class, pioneered the use of this automated weapon system. Meanwhile, USS Salem (CA-139), known for its role in peacetime naval diplomacy, is now a museum ship that can still be visited today. The USS Newport News (CA-148) has a significant combat history, including its involvement in the Vietnam War. It provided gunfire support to ground forces and demonstrated the importance of heavy cruisers in modern military operations at the time. At the time this photo was taken, all three ships had been decommissioned and placed in an inactive ship maintenance facility. This facility serves as a storage location for ships no longer in service but still possessing historical value or the potential for reuse. The presence of these three ships in one location illustrates the changing nature of US naval strategy. With the advent of new technologies such as guided missiles and ships with advanced electronic systems, the role of heavy cruisers began to diminish and were eventually replaced by more modern types of ships. Nevertheless, these ships retain immense historical significance. They represent the pinnacle of gunnery warfare and witnessed significant events in US military history in the 20th century. Taken together, this image is not only a documentation of decommissioned ships but also a reflection of profound changes in military technology and strategy. The three Des Moines-class ships stand as a reminder of the glorious era of heavy cruisers and the evolution of the navy into a more modern future.
