@digijordan Yep. There should not be the underlying motivation to post for money. Because that's what so much of X is now. People are posting things based on the shock value, engagement, and how much it induces a reaction. It's not a good way to have a genuine digital town square.

X would be WAY better if it didn’t pay anyone for anything. I make money off X and I’d be glad to see it go away… As it would restore the soul and integrity to this important platform.

When I play a game like Crimson Desert filled with interesting content and a memorable open world, the $70 I paid seem cheap. A bargain, even. But when I play a buggy, generic and uninspiring game like AC Valhalla even $20 seem expensive.

This business model doesn't even make sense. Retweets are only really capable of making good posts do better. If I were to RT some coal, it wouldn't magically go viral. And if your tweet is already getting shared because it's good, then why would you even bother paying for an RT?

With the Best Ranger Competition in full swing this weekend, here is a look back at 2007 when CSM Doug Greenway (at the age of 47) and his son SSG Brandon Greenway became the first father and son team to finish the competition. CSM Greenway was serving as the Infantry School CSM at the time and his retirement ceremony was a few weeks after the competition. Doug (I can call him that now) was my Battalion CSM when I went to the sergeant promotion board which was the same time frame that we first started deploying to combat in 2002. I have been briefed on an incident that occurred at Grand Central Station this morning. Reports indicate a man slashed three people on the platform with a machete. Officers shot the man when he did not drop the machete. He has since been pronounced dead. I’m grateful to the NYPD for their quick response and for preventing additional violence. The three victims were taken to the hospital and are thankfully in stable condition. The NYPD is conducting an internal investigation and will release body-worn camera footage, as it does in all incidents involving the discharge of an officer's firearm.
