@NRuggz @SiDforIBMi @freschesolution If you are looking for a free solution the only one that I know of that is currently active is Pub400.com - they offer free accounts on a V7.5 system. For a fee there is iDevCloud.com and a few others that slip my mind for the moment.

@sqliquery Sadly the assumption made by those who tweet in category 4 is partially correct - many others don't know it. I hear from people every week who think IBM i in general and RPG specifically can't create or consume web services - for example.

@JonParis Hi John no need to add semi colons to end of lines. Sorry, don't understand the 'add the text to yt' question. did you get any errors when you installed the odbc package with yum?

@AndyYouens The way colors show in the video I can't tell { from ( and the code I typed will not run. odbc install (after a lot of effort) works fine. Used a node.js syntax checker and it said ; were needed so ... if you just post the text I'll know if it is me or ...

@notesofbarry Personally I'd rather see a tool that does what IWS does but without the overhead of the Java. IWS is way better than it used to be but still a royal pain to debug when things go adrift.

I am thinking about building tools to manage #ibmi IWS services from VS Code. It sounds cool but would need a lot of time to work on. Would love to hear what you think about this github.com/halcyon-tech/v…

@HansBoldt Increasing uptake by node, python and PHP programmers plus increased use of SQL. For SQL result sets it makes it easier. For new programmers they feel familiar (ignoring the vagaries of parm passing). Are you going to like anything RPG does except IBM saying it has been sunset?

Latest in my series on the new RPG dynamic array enhancements is published today itjungle.com/2020/10/12/gur… If you use SQL for dynamic result sets you need to use this new type of array. #IBMi
