New specimen of the tiny dinosaur Alnashetri reveals alvarezsauroids got small a lot, and that there have been secret ones hiding in collections from across the world.

This is such a great twin study because it reveals how unreliable twin studies are.
We in fact know that practice *does* improve ability! Babies don’t crawl out of the womb playing violin!

But acute sports injuries, particularly concussions, show up a lot in my experience.
Plenty of non-acute reasons to argue against, but things like concussions are too common to be truly edge.

@lxeagle17 @jbarro I’d be shocked if broken hands were the reason for testing accommodations more than .01% of the times they are given. Edge cases don’t disprove the general point

This stuff is such bullshit. If you have a condition that makes it hard for you to complete work in a time limit, that’s something your grades should measure, not something they should avoid measuring.

Event study of how accommodations affect your GPA: they help A LOT. Students with accommodations can get extra time on tests, and sometimes use computers when other students can't. 7/

@janecoaston That’s the other mistake, yeah? Like 37 is *pretty close* to 40 in a way that 15 is very much not close to 18. 3 years means different things at different ages!

Yep. Licenses are a quantitative restriction, and license/user fees pay for administration.
Tariffs are a tax.

Equating tariff to a license seems esp. problematic. A license gives permission to carry out the activity; fee is incidental. I don't get to drive because I paid DMV a fee, but because I passed its test & met its requirements. With tariff, fee isn't incidental; it's the point.
