AI didn’t arrive in 2022. It just became visible. What failed wasn’t ambition; it was job design. Most roles run on judgement, context, and recovery when things break. That’s where AI still struggles. Stop treating AI as workforce strategy. It’s a job design problem.

I appreciate the outpouring of suggestions and questions, but what happens next is between me and Jesus. I won’t be responding to your well-intentioned messages on this topic. (There are a lot!) I hope you understand. And thank you.

Serious question - do employers have the right to ask an employee to improve their personal hygiene if they’re disrupting the workplace with overwhelming BO?

@Shadowwork6969 Purchased a copy from the Great Coaches group recommendation you made. My young lad is reading it, even quoted an observation the other day to me!

@michaelsleap Indeed he is. Always had time for my kids (and I!) when we saw him in random public places. Legend of a bloke.

@WillSchofield idea, why don't teams build skills in the torp? Make it a legitimate option from 65m. Surely with a training block, players can execute say 25%, which would be above average for goals per inside 50m. Then say another 15% scores from the mis-executed chaos balls. It'd make the flood defence extend to 80m, and create space as well. As Simmo to analyse it 😉. Reckon you'd score more than 2 goals in a half, if you had it in your toolkit.

@JonWoolfrey @Greg_J_Martin10 No complaints about the school. It’s the overall cost of living that’s making life challenging but we shall prevail👏🏻

Back to school preparations have begun - kids have grown like weeds over the break. Nothing fits them so new uniforms required. Plus shoes and runners 😬🧐 the sacrifices parents make 😂 #removesguccibagfromcart

Are there any Australian HR/IR people still out there on X/Twitter? I remember the old days of #OzHR weekly chats etc.

@lolgasem Meek honed his craft in the WAFL getting the right development which is why he performed well when given an opportunity at AFL level. Let’s hope Erasmus does the same next season. There’s nothing wrong with developing in the state league rather than being gifted AFL games

Loyd Meek is a perfect example of what can happen when you give players an extended run to hone their craft. Didn't get to show what he could do for us. I was happy for him when he got the opportunity. Lets apply this theory to Neil Erasmus pls.

@paulohalloranIR Oh dear. You start to wonder at what point you'd reconsider taking the risk of starting a business and paying for what you can't reasonably direct.

I actually think the salary cap is all that's needed to moderate free agency. I actually would go the other way and say scrap compensation for the club losing the free agent. Net effect has benefited clubs lower down the ladder in terms of assets. North getting pick 3 for Mackay was crazy! They play the game well. The biggest losers are the 16 clubs not involved who all pay 1/16th of the cost, to the benefit of the other two clubs. But because the impact is watered down it goes unnoticed which I think is a mistake.

I reckon we could probably do away with the "put your mobiles on silent" spiel at events now. Save hundreds of hours globally!

@JonWoolfrey @michaelsleap @tommorris32 You don’t see it because the money is already invested in the sport to give you reduced sign up / participation fees. So much money is invested in junior sport to enable lower costs to encourage greater numbers.

Detailed modelling sent to the Federal Government claims the AFL (and NRL) would lose $120 million per year if digital gambling adds are banned. That’s $12 million taken annually from community footy. Details 👇
9News Melbourne@9NewsMelb

Auskick and community football could be collateral damage in the escalating efforts to ban gambling ads on social and digital media, with the AFL poised to lose more than $100 million a year in revenue. @tommorris32 #9News

@michaelsleap @tommorris32 Yeah, ridiculous argument. Where's the other 90% go anyway? And as a parent of junior footy players, most money in junior footy comes from the parents, don't see much coming from elsewhere. #strawman

@tommorris32 Seems like a bad business model for the AFL to rely so heavily on revenue from a stream that could get shut down. And using the money taken out of community footy line to defend it is a clear tactic

Have you ever heard the phrase, "you have to know the rules before you break them?" What does that mean? Why would you have to know the rules if they're going to be broken anyway? Let's talk about it. 🧵
