@ekonsa15 @Beardandcamera @MetroUK Learn about tourettes. The comment made isnt racist because with that you tic the most inappropriate thing at the time. It does not reflect the thoughts or feelings of the person with tourettes. So the commentor isnt racist, but you are clearly ableist

@dave_swans10610 @MetroUK Yes i agree, if even after being warned about tourettes and its impact on someone and what it entails yoyntskenoffemse to a tic, you really shouldn't have been there.

@BiigMochi @MetroUK Why should you apologise for something you have no control over. Those present were warned before about the the tics and the fact that it could result in offensive language being used but that he cannot control what he does due to his tourettes. This was repeated during the show.

@MetroUK Exactly. And they still are owed an apology. You having Tourette’s doesn’t excuse the fact that you should apologize for saying a slur

@WendellPierce Never understood how tourette's results in that word always being used but the afflicted person does owe everyone an apology. Sometimes you just do the right thing and stay out of situations where you know in advance you could embarrass and hurt people.

It’s infuriating that the first reaction wasn’t complete and full throatted apologies to Delroy Lindo and Michael B. Jordan. The insult to them takes priority. It doesn’t matter the reasoning for the racist slur.
Jemele Hill@jemelehill

Asking for more grace for the person who shouted a racist slur instead of for Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo, who had to push through being embarrassed in front of their peers. But that’s often the expectation — that Black people are just supposed to be ok with being disrespected and dehumanized so that other people don’t feel bad.

I keep trying to write about what happened at the BAFTAs, and I can't find the words. The situation is almost impossible, but it happened 3 times that night, and one of the three times was directed at myself on the way to dinner after the show.

@HannahEBeachler It's time for especially Black Americans to stop giving grace to people who make excuses for racism. White people are not better than Black people, but a lot of them are insecure hypocrites. The bottom line call out their racism in real time!

@HannahEBeachler Congratulations on publicly showing your ableism. Shame in you. Maybe you should go and speak to tourrettes action and learn about this condition and the effects it has on people.

at the end of the show. Of course we were offended...but our frequency, our spiritual vibration is tuned to a higher level than what happened. I am not steal, this did not bounce off of me, but I exist above it. It can't take away from who I am as an artist.

@O2 Any reason why the cheque for compensation you agreed on 5th December 2025 has not yet materialised? Also, what extra are you going to add for the additional delay? This has been going on for 18 months.

@DarryGoGo @JohnLewisRetail Consumer rights act. You have rights outside any warranty period. Your contract is with the retailer not the manufacturer. John Lewis are potentially liable for up to 6 years if a manufacturing defect/design flaw as opposed to user damage/misuse.

@JohnLewisRetail hi, I’ve bought some Bose headphone 15 months ago and they have developed a fault. As per you CS I can’t claim under your 2 year guarantee? Would you care to explain why I need to deal direct with Bose?

@JohnLewisRetail Criminals are going to shops, peeling off the number to reveal the PIN and waiting forit to be activated and then stealing the money. This is a flaw with John Lewis allowing their insecure cards to be displayed in shops instead of only being sold from behind tills.

Juat a warning fornanyone thinking of buying @JohnLewisRetail gift vouchers, dont. Local radio are reporting lots of cases of people buying their cards only to find they are spent already. The cards are not secure but John Lewis says tough luck.

1 in 3 of us will become disabled in our lifetime. Yesterday I saw a friend who was involved in an RTC recently, fracturing his ankle, neck and skull and facing a long recovery. The safety net needs to be there for all of us.

I’m voting against disability benefit cuts because I oppose them, but the process by which this Bill is being rushed through without necessary information or adequate scrutiny, is reason enough for MPs to vote against it on Tuesday. This is not how we should make laws.
